Cultivation, Range, and Huge Ginkgo Tree Question

So from what I can gather from the Range value of an item that you're using for your cultivation room means that you can be that many tiles away from it and still gather ki from it, right? Now the Huge Ginkgo Tree has a Range of 5, so I was wondering if the ideal setup would be to make your normal cultivation setup, then have the Ginkgo Tree on the unused, 5th tile away, so you're still gathering ki from all the items you normally would, plus the Ginkgo Tree on top?

Update: Works perfectly fine 4 squares away. However if you want to conserve space you can put it 1 square away and drop the Qi-gathering item you had in that slot onto the same square the tree is on. So it doesn't matter where you position your tree. If you want it to look like you're meditating under a tree just put your Qi cushion the block under it and drop a gnarled vine onto it (remembering to ban it of course or it'll get swept up into storage)

Probably can mess up feng shui since that tree is a special case. Most stuff only have a range of 2 (or 3 if you use the in game range which start from 1) for feng shui but not the huge ginkgo tree. The tree affect feng shui element for the whole range instead of just 2 square from center.

I only use the tree for fire cultivator but you can probably still use it at range of 5 for most cultivator elements except maybe the element that go cancelled by wood element.

Range 5 means 4 squares away in a straight line so you can place it outside the line of 3 stands in the typical Qi gathering array. Range 2 items only cover the 4 adjacent squares (U,D,R,L). Huge gingko is an exception to the element rule, its wood element extends all the way so you can only use it for fire cultivators(and neutral element), others only extend to Range 3(so 2 squares away in a straight line).

Thanks guys! It does work perfectly fine 4 squares away but after some experimenting I realised something. It doesn't actually matter where you put it, because you can drop a qi-gathering item at it's base, so even if you put it 1 square away you're not sacrificing anything because you just drop your spiritwood or gnarled vine into the square the tree takes up and get both bonuses anyway. Hope this helps out anyone else wondering the same thing!
