Alignment
I have a question with regards to how alignment works. I've watched a lot of people play this, but so far the way you gain alignment still confuses the hell out of me... yes I understand that 'being good' means goodboy point, and being bad means 'bad bad points'. But why is it so damn easy to insta gain tons of evil alignment from things like Soul Inquiry and whatnot, especially when it's from enemies attacking YOU, not random outsiders, but enemies?

I get you, it took me time to understand that it simply isn't our culture.
Chinese culture vastly differe to occidental ones.
Like, why hellgates are absolutely fine ? We are freezing to death innocent people who just wanted to join the sect and literraly harvest a part of their soul... but in chinese culture you hold no responsability for "accidental" death since THEY chose to come and as such sealed their fate.
As for soul inquiry, YOU chose to mess with the soul of someone(which is sacred for being the pinacle of reincarnation cycle for chinese), so it's bad, even if the bastard attacked and murdered your people.
Personnaly i think it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, culture or not.

would just be nice with a note on the ability, like how you get similar stuff if it requires a minimum cultivation state, or that it'll drain your lifespan.

also how does hellgates work? visitor spot with ominous feng shui?
Normal Paradox Dec 11, 2022 @ 6:44am
Yes, a sect gates inside a room with very ominous fengshui and -200°C temp to freeze them to death. You can use relics too, that way you can build a very auspicious room/gate and turn it easily into a hellgate when needed.
What actions can be done then if I dun wanna 'game the system' in terms of easy-to-note ways of 'good guy points'?

Burying people inside tomb get you good rep, or , if you are lucky, some adventures can give you good rep too. And that's it.
Honestly, you should be true to yourself and embrace the darkside, we both know we are the goodguys anyways. xD

And how do you avoid getting overfilled graveyards then? and do you just bury your own on also neutral/enemies?
Normal Paradox Dec 11, 2022 @ 10:03am
Yes, you have to bury neutral and enemies too if you want to max out the good rep. (about 40 points each time)
As for how to avoid getting overfilled graveyards you just have to demolish the said graveyard once full and build a new one on top of it. Easy.

And you dun get bad juju from that?
Also maybe make an ominous graveyard with enemy corpses perhaps? for body cultivator use later?

Yeah no problem with that, as long as they have been buried it's fine, good or bad fengshui is fine, leave it or destroy it, fine too.

Ahh yes, big bad to steal knowledge from their mind (and yes soul-stealing as well which IS bad, I can understand that one)... but to bury someone and then graverobbing them again? totally fine?
I guess it's more about the rite of burial itself that sends the soul to great Yama or some such?

There is a bit of a meme where you can soul inquiry the person for bad points, then bury them and have a net gain of good points. Its great.

what if you also Soul Chant them or whatnot to get the soul? Soul Inquiry is just 'steal knowledge' right?
Normal Paradox Dec 14, 2022 @ 11:37am
Don't waste your time with soul chant, just let them die slowly inside a very omnious room and you'll get an anguish soul gem every time without the condemnation. Remember : THEY came to you and YOU did nothing wrong. xD
You can even take that time to feed them laxative to get enough ♥♥♥♥ out of them to build fertile soil for your farm... just saying. :D
