if you want "how do I do it myself from scratch"...I'd still study blue prints, but then you're gonna have to study and plan. A lot.
I like the idea of grabbing blueprints bc I HATE designing bases tbh. I like the management but making everything nice and neat and fit together? No that's boring
I never build temporary dwellings or facilities. It is possible to get marble, iron, and timber in the first 2-3 days (from the Ruins of Taiyi) and disciples start to complain about lacking accommodations only after a week or so. Seven days are enough to build marble rooms and workshops.
I would strongly encourage using known map seeds. They make things much more convenient and predictable. You can also embark on special projects like growing spirit trees without going through the pain of creating spirit soil which is a huge PITA without mods.
What's the deal with spirit trees anyway?
What a headache
It is optional
ACS has so many features and interesting mechanics... just pick whatever you enjoy the most.
Ik its like every time I think I am starting to understand the game it just pulls this crap on me. What kinda items btw? Now I am curious.

For all intenses and purposes They're more important as production facilities.

While grouping buildings is always a good idea it is not strictly necessary. It is possible to assign buildings/areas on the opposite sides of the map to the same branch: Branch areas can be edited with [Remove Branch] in the same way as fields and herb gardens. The only difference is that branch areas are less visible.
