Tribulation Room Mechanics
So I was hoping someone in the community could shed some light on this.

I have a couple questions first.

1. Does the element of a cultivators artifact weapon really matter? Does it impact them individually in any way?

2. Does element weaken and strengthen tribulation clouds?

3. Do begetting tribulation clouds do less damage to the cultivator and do overcoming clouds do grievous damage to your cultivator per round?

4. Will using the opposing element for your artifact regardless of the element of the cultivator, increase your success against the tribulation cloud?

5. Will the room element weaken my cultivator in anyway while doing tribulations if its the opposing element?

So this ties into my situation.

I have a metal primordial cultivator thats already done 3 attainment tribulations, but I did it casually and without much prep. This time, I want to do it right.

So if my metal cultivator had to go against a earth tribulation cloud. And I made the room out of wood, used a wood artifact weapon, maxed out luck, maxed out virtue. Will that massively increase my odds?

Is my thinking right on this? Or am I wrong about anything?

Earth Tribulation Cloud vs Metal cultivator using wood artifact, in a wood room, with high luck and virtue.

???

Wonder about this as well, also what about shapeshift tribulation? What does it affect?

Shapeshift tribulation is all five elements. Fortunately it isn’t that strong. You can beat it with almost any golden core, or a good core shaping with good defense, good max Qi, and a good artifact.

Regular tribulations are weaker in an environment that suppresses them. So if it’s a fire tribulation I guess go stand in a lake, etc. Thats what I do. I think I could go further with Qi gathering items but it isn’t necessary. The tribulations you get from your laws are weak and a level 1 or 2 core should be absolutely fine.

The dangerous tribulations are paramount penalties and attainment. Fortunately you can choose how many of those to face.

I don’t think element types inherently hurt worse if they suppress yours but I could be wrong. I know that yaoguai and illuminated cultivators often have elemental weaknesses though.

I was even going to try facing it in the spring, since spring is wood element. I suppose I'll have to find out the hard way if it works out or not.

There are five big ways to die in a tribulation.

1) Your defense skill has no ranks in it and you explode. Solution. Invest in your defense stat.

2. Your defense skill is good but your artifact regeneration multiplier sucks. The tribulation hits you and it bounces off, then your artifact attacks and uses up all its Qi. Your artifact returns and you refill it, draining yourself dry. Now when the tribulation strikes you, you have no Qi shield and you explode. Solution. Get a better artifact. Or invest high in defense, unequip your artifact, and just face-tank the entire tribulation. It will take forever but 20 ranks and a lot of Qi can rank a LOT of tribulation damage.

3. You passed your last attainment easily so you try another one and get smote. Solution: remember they double in strength each time, and the element changes. Be more careful.

4. You are a physical cultivator and you think you will be fine but you die. It isn’t obvious what went wrong. Solution: physical cultivation combat has a higher random factor. Don’t just do the minimum, exceed it. And be sure to use your berserk skill. It is hard to say why you died exactly because a lot is going on but if you went unconscious before dying the problem was your pain threshold. Upgrade your brain. If you just died outright upgrade your defenses. And always have good offense to just punch the cloud to death and end the tribulation fast.

5. You are a divine cultivator and blow yourself up because the rules are confusing and the tool tips are poorly translated. Solution: good luck.
