SOLVED: Unrightfully banned review got unbanned (Mods pls delete this thread)

Edit: Since I contacted steam support and they admitted that the ban was not necessary at all because it didn't violate any rules my review got unbanned and all my steam functions returned to normal.

This discussion serves no longer any purpose and I wish to delete it. Thanks to all the people who had something useful to say.

I wonder if a bunch of people doing the same meme would trigger an anti-spam filter.

I mean if that's all you wrote, maybe try adding a bit extra and give your review some content?

Appearantly it was a steam moderator. But I didn't even violate any rules. Meanwhile people are writing the same stuff all over again. I can't even edit my review.

If that is the case then tons of reviews all over steam would get banned. I honestly don't see why my review got banned. In my opinion I did nothing wrong. I didn't even get a warning or the reason why this happened. I read through the terms of service and didn't violate anything. :/ Just wrote something funny after seeing Sseth's latest review video to this game and many people seem to like it as well.
Removing positive reviews for no reason only damages the total review score of the game. Is there a way to unban my review?

Most if not all STEAM moderators are morons and punks, get used to it.

They seemingly do more to protect STEAM and devs/studios from negative posts than anything else....though yours was not negative...that's where the "moron" part comes in.

A few weeks ago I was in a discussion about BF 2042.

There were 3 of use saying it did not seem futuristic at all, more like the last few BF games, just with a different story.

Despite none of us being rude or insulting, or violating the rules in any way, a STEAM moderaror banned all 3 of us at the same time, and in my case, for made up BS offenses.
And the few people that were being rude, posting insults, etc....nothing happened to them.

Sadly this is not an isolated incident...I see it happening quite often with other people as well.

Hey guys, I wrote directly to steam support and they have unbanned it because they also saw the ban as unnecessary. Apparently the mod who banned my review before treated me unfairly for no reason.

Also thanks for sharing your experiences here. It seems unfair bans are a common issue on this platform.

Which is... kind of who's paying them. Why color me flabbergasted, an employee sticking up for their boss? What world are we in?

(By the way, the Steam moderators I've seen don't do a whole lot of that. I've trashed Steam pretty overtly and have never even been warned about it. Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe you're seeing the unlucky ones.)

Aparently you don't get the point. It's about getting banned for not even violationg the rules. About a mod abusing shamelessly their power. Even steam support said that it was an unnecessary ban. Millions of people don't write serious reviews and write something funny and they won't get banned because it's not a crime. But reviews still matter for the total review score of a game. Also my review was basically saying that Sseth has send me, which means people can watch his review video if they want to know more, because he did a fairly detailed video of this game. People who watch Sseth know what "hey hey people" means.
And even after being unbanned I still got some of my steam priveliges removes. I can't even upvote other reviews anymore. I'm still writing with steam support to solve this issue. I get punished for not even violating the terms of service which is ridiculous.

Hope it gets sorted out, not to be that guy but writing a pointless review does nothing for anyone, being a Sseth fan and seeing "hey hey people" as a review doesn't somehow mean I'm going to think the review is useful at all. It's spam and its annoying. The only comedy is the fact you were banned for something so mundane overall.

I'm sure it will. Steam support seems to be on my side in that case. The mod clearly overreacted. Of course it is a joke review just to make people laugh. But I think it also direct some people to his video. Some people like it, some don't. So I respect your opinion even if you didn't have a laugh. It always happens after Sseth videos on steam and it sure does give those games some boost on the total review score which is good in my opinion, because I like this game. Yeah, the ban and also the removal of some of my steam functions was really too hard of a punishment for such a harmless joke. If people can get banned for something mundane like that than they could be banned for anything. Just to censor different opinions for example.

Yeah? Sorry to disappoint you. Steam support didn't agree with that unrightful ban and unban it.
By the way your comment is even less helpful. Maybe you should think before you write. How would you feel for getting punished for not violating any rules?

hey i really doubt its some evil steam mod.... my guess is that ai found some insult in some other language and ur message got stuck in the word filter. Happens all the time. I had so many cases of this in yt where i just wrote the same stuff a second time in separated comments and suddenly the filter didnt complain anymore.
Also u crying about censorship is pathetic. Censorship is a normal everyday thing that companies always can employ in their platforms and it having nothing to do with some freedom of speech that prevents the government from persecuting u because of (political) opinion
