How big is the breathing range for Physical cults?

I got this room filled with different elements. Do I get essences faster with items near the breathing location? Will I be able to get the essences from materials all around the room or is there a defined boundary around the breathing location?

Oh i see what you mean. I haven't tinker with it that much as i get most of my essence from devouring. What you want is to get all the +'s up for better breathing efficiency. So qi density , mental state, liberation (breathing in the same location), and additional bonus (body parts like nose, lung, etc.).

The main essence from breathing (with regard to items) are: wraith, innate water (qi regen on parts so you can cancel out 999 tempered's qi consumption) and maybe innate earth essence (if you have innate water label, then you cant add any of the other innate 'element' ones). On a min-max physical, the rest of the labels will be filled with various ancient beast essences (phoenix, flood dragon, etc.) or solar/luna and the other epics.

Regular elementals or seasonal essence aren't really that important.

Can I just shove an expired vessel into the tomb for the Wraith essence?

For wratih essence i just setup up a tomb near the breath spot, about 2-5 tiles.

If you need to breath with qi gather items then usual range like in cultivation rooms works. If not there is other requirements like day/night/ominous room/weather etc

for innate essences devour fruits from spirit trees, breathing while thunderstorm gives innate iron. (maybe other weather from miracles work too for other inner essences, i didn't checked it yet)

Its range 5.

Anything beyond that, will not count for essences.

Are you sure? Spirit stone display with fire essense bar(gather qi range 3)which i put one tile away from cushion(range 3) gives me fire essense, same display three tiles away(Range 5) gives me nothing.

That is probably because the fire essence bar is only range 3. If say you have a qi range 6 item, and you put it 5 tiles away then it will work; but 6 tiles away and it wont work. This is assuming that the breathing range is 5. It has been a while since i looked at this so i dont know what the breathing range is.

I'm just going off the coded range for it. Someone posted the code when I asked them.

Whether you actually get the essence seems to be related to the breathing efficiency and other factors.

How do you get the innate elemental essences?

Remold your stomach, mouth, intestines, and liver. Then eat spirit fruits of the relevant elemental type. Or even better, buy the auction invitation (you only need to buy it once), horde money, and then buy fancy stuff at the auction. I haven't tested everything but the phoenix feather I ate gave me like five times as much innate fire as I get from a fruit.

So I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get Phoenix Essence. Is it from eating Phoenix drops or is it from breathing? I can't seem to google or find it anywhere. Any help would greatly be appreciated and y'all seem knowledgeable about the subject. :D
