Mod to remove Iron Man mode from Immortal Difficulty?

Honestly, I hate Iron Man mode. Especially after I just got screwed by it.

Believe it doesn't have the extra options. A better mod would simply enable those options.

I would love a mod that did this. Now that I know what I'm doing I wouldn't mind more diffculty but losing a 30+ hour file due to some crash or something would kill my desire to play the game.

I just manually back my save up every now and again. I had to restart a game where I had a few really good random yaoguai because someone stole the starter talisman book before I got a chance to transcribe, losing invisibility&spiritual travelling talismans wasn't something I was willing to live with.

One of the thing about iron man mode is that consequences are real, which is both a good and a bad thing. However if you feel like iron man mode is ruining your fun since you dont want to risk tinkering with new choices (or run into bugs), then you can just manually back up your save file. Either copy and paste the save file to a different folder, or just rename it.

Keeping manual backups in case of bugs is always a great idea. What the OP wants, however, is not.

I think it's the same as immortal mode if you just max out everything in the difficulty option but you can still save normally compared to immortal mode. :)

For a colony sim type game having to restart mostly wastes time, it doesn't really ramp up the difficulty much.
If OP wants to mess around on super high difficulty and cheat and also savescum, why is that a problem for you?

God forbid somebody wants to play a single player game the way they want, huh?

Anyways I haven't seen a mod that does this, but I could look into how hard it'd be to make one.

God forbid somebody plays the game the way it was designed.

The first goto excuse to make cheaters feel better will always be "Its single player, why do you care"

The answer is simple, achvs are NOT single player, and in this case, the only way to get achvs, is to play in Ironman mode. Clearly designed this way, but nope, guy wants to bypass this just to appease his own achv score.

Now granted, the best anyone can say is "Cheating is for losers" and move on. So I am not saying not to play the way that makes you feel good, just dont ♥♥♥♥♥ about it because ♥♥♥♥ doesnt fit your narrative.

can't you just disable immortal mode, and ramp up all the difficulty scale as they are on immortal mode ? you will have save but with the difficulty of immortal.

You can't because true immortal has those other tribulation modifiers, you can ramp up the sliders to reach default true immortal mode. But those true immortal tribulation modifiers are only shown when you select true immortal mode.

hmm i see. then you'll have to use the legendary Paradox game ironman strategy and manually copy paste your save file for now :D
