Poll, who uses lunar form on male disciples for the qi boost?
I know it's "optimal" but I feel bad about making people eunuchs. Yes you can regrow it... but I mean, would it really "work" with so much yin in the body?

Granted, both of the inners that practiced sunflower in my sect were male, one was just because he had crazy high affinity, the other had a yin body so it seemed logical.

I've only used female characters so far.

I don't think I'd do this just b/c I'd feel too bad, so a not me for me.

There are some things more important than max qi boost.

It's a pretty classic trope, for example popularly portrayed in Jin Yong's The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, which had several movies and spinoff series, almost all of which include the Sunflower Manual guy.

Chop it off and achieve immortality.

Let's just say that to achieve immortality, you're gonna have to get rid of your earthly pleasures.

They can get them back eventually, but weirdly it doesn't seem to have any negative drawbacks compared to other missing parts, so I often forget to put them back on >.>

Well, the thing you chop off can be crafted into an artifact later on ; )

You can always regrow it later on... but yeah I wouldn't want that

Every single one since you can grow it back. My male disciples all have a stand in their room to keep it close. Ladies get a shelf instead. <<May I have a look at this “Sunflower Manual”?
No, this book is our cult’s treasure, can’t be seen by outsider. Boy, this is a Kung Fu learn by eunuch, I suggest you don’t learn it. Too greedy and you might walk on the “dark path”.>>

In some interpretations the final step to become a diety is to completly sever connection with the material world. Family , Friends, Your own mortal body.
In which case cultivator with only immortality on his mind wouldn't care.

My roommate's sect leader's treasure is a divine relic. Another's was traded for some phoenixwood. Yes, it's worth it, if just for the lulz. You can always save them to refine into amazing artifacts, too.

This is the step after Nascent Soul (Primordial Spirit) in I Shall Seal the Heavens. Known as the Spirit Severing stage you must sever that which holds you back from achieving immortality thricefold. In which case, one would only need to sever their treasure if it was important enough to weigh on their mind. So the key is not to be tied down by mortal hindrances in the first place.

Edit: Especially because the more thoroughly you can sever mortal hindrances, I/E if you had few hindrances in the first place, the better you can complete the stage.

I do on my first one or two disciples to get the better golden core. Later on you don't need the extra Qi anymore to give you that tiny bit of extra edge.
[HW] Boar Dec 14, 2020 @ 11:26am
The amount of Qi you get is pretty small (300 I usually notice?) but early on I take everything I can get.

My last "treasure" I put in a high Qi area to soak up the delicious mana rays. Give it a nice afterlife.

I usually make them into artifacts and stuff them into the sword monument to unleash on tougher enemies.
Once I'm through munchkinning for a tier 1 golden body I usually attach the Yin passive to something via sub-spirit and grow my treasure back with body reconstruction. >_<

Actually, severing your treasure is because male genitalia is a very strong source of Yang energy (male is Yang, female is Yin), and you can't cultivate the path of pure Yin energy with a big ol' hunk of Yang energy hanging off your front, lol. When you regrow it, most likely it's utilizing the yin energy to do so, so while it's physically the same qi-wise it's inverted.

You don't lose the manual's trait by reconstruction, FYI. Also, artifacts in your sword monument break with use. Give them back to their owners to use as their artifacts, dammit! XD

Huh. That would explain the recurring donger detachments.
