The ones labeled something other than "Body" are the secret body techniques for your Physical cultivation law. When you open one of their tabs, the list of parts to shape should be filtered. These are the body parts associated with that technique, and the ones you need yo mold to advance. The actual molds required are in the bottom left, and you can click the Roman Numberals above them to see what future ranks of the technique will require so you can plan ahead.
Starting off, you should more or less focus entirely on getting those techniques as high as you can, and/or work on what parts you can remold for the next rank(s) until you unlock new techniques to work on or the ability to remold the other parts required.
As for what the "bad" choices are, I suspect they mean ones that have a negative stat and/or sound Body Horror-ish in their description. I've also tried to avoid elemental molds and others of the same quality unless it's what I need for a technique. In any case, you do want to make sure you do NOT use up all the slots on a part (which is 6 unique types of buff) until you're 100% sure of what you want there to reduce the odds of finding yourself forced to reset a part that might have a super-rare mold on it because a new technique requires molds it didn't have and you couldn't fit.
Getting white label is always good, since it stacks to 999 for flesh and bone. You probably wont hit this limit unless min maxing. There are only so many label slots, 6 initially but you can increase this to 7 via upgrading the heart organ which increase remold cap.

and should I pick anything but white from those?
Edit: Make fasting, inedia or other no-hunger pills and body cultivators eat them like candy. I'd actually prefer they didn't.. but it means you never have to worry about immortal essence.
Well the idea is to rush the ability to improve your stamina gain, breathing rate and refining speed. I haven't gotten super far with a body Law myself but thats a pretty quick way to get it rolling.
But I read that most bonuses only affect a secret body.
For instance: The basic law only affects parts of both arms and legs.
Does that mean that refining anything else is completely useless? Should I use essences anywhere else?
The wording "physical cultivator" means its a global effect that takes place regardless if that secret body is equipped or not. Whereas the wording "secret body" will only have those bonus applied onto the secret body.
Tempered Flesh, Tempered bones all applied a slight global physical strength affect, but of course very very little. Organs have the best global effect, like heart increases remolding speed and cap, stomach increases the max tier for devour, etc. So you should train up your organs regardless if a secret body needs them or not. And of course improving your phallus makes you a happier guy.
I'm still using the basic law, is it safe to assume doing offensive stuff on the arms is a good idea? Because a new body seems to want to make these arms defensive now, and there is some wood element thing supposed to use my feet for defense.
It's a lot more complicated than I thought @_@
Also, I'm at 0 stamina and can't progress further =/
This is because you can only use that secret body for one function.
Let say you have leveled up mixed element-arm dramatically, then it will have a decently high base offense and defense values due to all the stacks of tempered flesh and bone. At this point you only want to stack certain labels depending on whether you want to use that part offensively or defensively. Since endurance or defense wont really matter if you are using that part to attack.
Maybe it might affect how much dmg will be taken if you get hit in that area, but i haven't test this out yet.
Also certain labels will be exclusive to certain essence. For instance aqualuna, ignis, nimbus, illusision are the top tier essence that can produce unique orange label. In addition to that, i think if you pick the regular orange label Ancestral Throwback then you wont be able to pick any of the other orange label on that body part even if you refine it with those other essence. But i might be mistaken
As for stamina, you can either just breath all day. Or eat stamina items like bear gall, red ginseng, pig demon meat (npc sects sometimes sell this, it gives 100 stamina per so that is pretty good).
Too bad the guide doesn't specify what gives +stam and there are no bears left alive

Breathing is giving like 10 a day, maybe less @_@
