Flopping and unconscious is too much micromanagement.
The battles are already boring and reek of old, stale ideas.

Like the title states its too much micromanagement. I shouldn't need to remind my people to finish things off Every. Single. Time. Literally, every single time.

Am I overlooking a mechanic? I seriously hate battles due to the lack of engagement other than needing to mess with mouse clicks to ensure the enemy dies. Its slow, its boring, and I have to mess with the clunky mouse clicks.

Right click the attack button to toggle kill mode. This doesn't work in groups (i.e. shift-click) so it can be a bit wonky. I think in that situation it's based on the mode of who gets the last hit.

There should probably be a toggle or checkbox to decide to kill everything. I agree that this is kinda tedious.

But yes there are mechanics that make you want to leave them unconscious or dying, there are spells that remove inspiration from them, you can interrogate some dying people (only worked on one of my own for some reason), and you can turn them into items too. That is if you are going for a wicked cultivator instead of an honorable one, i think only mortal kills mater for this though, making them into items does despite being cultivators, that i know for a fact.

But yes if you intended to kill them the mechanic is a hassle.

As for the difference between flopping and unconscious i have no idea.

You can change between "fight until unconscious" and "fight until death" by right clicking on the sword symbol you normally use to attack. The sword symbol wil change then to a sword with blood drops. Every attack then is deadly.

Thank you!!!!!
Criticism rescinded or what? Lol. Anyway, I wonder if there's a way to keep them unconscious longer. If it was a consistent 600 seconds knocked out each time that'd be convenient but they just get up and try to steal things after a few seconds. They don't get hauled to my very ominous torture chamber quickly enough.

(i'm looking for a mod that keeps them knocked out longer)

This isn't a mod, and it's sort of wasteful for what you're doing, but you can always use sedation pills. Knocks em out for like 3 whole days. That's been my trick for taming, knock down, force feed sedation pill, force feed red ginseng and you've got all the time you really need.

what is the purpose of red ginseng?

The red ginseng is just a general health booster. So wounds won't be a problem. This is especially important on the really weak animals, like chickens. Gives you time to actually have your outers heal the regular wounds.

If you want enemies just for anguish gem farming then it’s fine if they are dying, they just have to die and become corpse in the ominous room. Shouldn’t be a problem if you have vessels going
