Diciples sleeping on ground
Everyone has a room with a bed an has access to it. But sometimes they do not sleep there but on some random place on the ground.

The tend to work into their sleeping time, ist this the reason? How can I solve this problem?

I've experienced this a lot, as I've had the turtle yaoguai disciples and they sometimes just give up before getting home.

I have remedied this by reducing the jobs they do. Giving them talismans to increase speed. And I think a major factor was meal time.

People would just eat whenever hungry, but I found a setting where you pick a meal for your sect, and they are cooked 2 hours before meal times. This resulted in my disciples eating at meal time, together, and socializing. It seems like it was a habit forming choice as it influences when they do other things.

My other solutions I haven't tried yet were making special areas for the laborers. Bed, foundation training area, and work place all next to each other. Other jobs marked off to not be done. So one guy stays by his house and smiths all day every day.

Another manages farms, another makes clothes. This gives them a lot of potential down time and they will likely move up to inner disciples if you do this while having them toggled to work hard on cultivation.

You have turtles and even more than one? I'm in awe of your mental strength, one season with one turtle disciple was enough for me to hit restart. Talismans does not really help since they increase speed by percents and not by a lot. And turtles has their speed so low, even 100% increase would not make them usable. And at start the best you can make is ~20% increase, not really noticable.

Basically if they are too far away they'll just sleep on the spot. So either do what EskimoBoy said and have them wind down near base or maybe having bunk houses around the map could work so that they are close to a bed regardless of map position.

My people are simple humans and workload was pretty low. Distance to beds was close as far as I can tell.

Will building beds on different locations even help? I thought that ervery char has just one designatet sleepplace.

But for some reason it stopped. Have to look if this will happen again.

My understanding was that they can sleep in any bed until that bed is assigned to someone. Can try assigning them to a bed but I've had mixed results, sometimes they prioritize it sometimes not.

I had 3 rooms with double bed each and 5 disciples. One of them would always refuse to sleep in the bed. If I assigned him another bed he would be fine, but someone else would then refuse to use his bed.
I finally had enough and made single bed rooms for everyone and since then there was no problem.

Double beds seem to be for couples. If you assign them both to same double bed, they will both get a "bad planning" debuff that says they can't 'sleep' with someone else.

My bad. I used the wrong word.
I meant every room had two single person beds. No double beds where involved.
Though good to know what double beds are for.

Apparently they claim rooms so need to look into that. From my experience, assigning them beds was needed sometimes but not everytime and sometimes it didn't work /shrugs. Also for instance, my first bedroom is just a bunch of beds crammed together everygame but they sleep in those just fine. Not sure, maybe a bug making their bed get unassigned and they never pick another?

I tried giving them different rooms if they could not find their bed. Same problem.
Checking the assignment it should still belong to them. Reassign did not help either.

Could try checking to make sure the room is "theirs". It may be a bug from claiming if they are consistently not sleeping in a room and instead are sleeping nearby. Can try destroying all beds and remaking them. To be sure you do have extra beds/ rooms? That may help.

I think I have a similar problem, disciples quite often just don't go to their beds, even if they are really close by. For example inner disciple that was set to restore his mind fell asleep on leisure rooms floor just ~15-20 tiles away from his bedroom. Then when I've "pressed stop current action" button, he immedietely went to sleep to his room.

Same thing pretty much constantly happens to me, they fall asleep in the rec room despite their bedroom being right outside the door, pretty much always when they're on Mind training. I think it's just not recognising they're tired and breaking off their go game/zither playing/etc to go and sleep, so they get to no energy and pass out on the spot.

about the best I can figure very few things will proactively interrupt a disciple's task, so they'll work well beyond the point where they should think about going to bed. At this point one of two things happens, they hit critical sleep need and collapse on the spot, or finish their task take a couple steps and then collapse.

Outer disciple mood is irrelevant. Unless they slack off, give them better clothing or joy talismans and let them sleep where they want to sleep.
