Blazing Feather, what should I use it for?

Right, I've had two of these drop down in my village, causing wildspread fire and mayhem.
(Love how my sims just stroll around doing their business without bothering trying to put the fires out *doh!*)

Anyhow, is there any use for these blazing feathers except causing fires? Is it worth selling early in the game, or is it a keeper for later use?

The main thing is that it is a qi gathering item with fire affinity. Other than that, you can use it to raise the temperature of the room (which you can counteract with the temperature dropping one). Basically you can connect your earth and wood cultivation/breakthrough rooms (which fire and water boosts).

The easiest way to save Blazing Feather early in the game is to equip it to colonists. Blazing Feather can increase the room temperature to kill visitors and get their equipment (the most practical feature).

Technically that is not evil, as they are just dying to the environment. Yes it seems evil and an exploit to us, but its not consider evil by the game.

You can take it a step further and cast soul inquiry while they are dying which is evil. Then also use soul chant to turn them into a soul gem. However, those are evil acts and will increase the character's condemnation value along with the sect's evil reputation. But you are gaining valuable information and putting the dead body to good use. Just have a person which you wont ascend with do those deeds, they wont need to worry about condemnation value increasing the tribulation strengths.

you can get soul gem's by letting people die in ominous/ very ominous rooms they also help with the soul inquiry if i recall correctly

Guess its time to play Evil Genius and make a labyrinth with blazing feathers here and there as traps for unwanted guests :D
