Late game once you have access and resources to dabble with spirit trees for your inner disciples to cultivate at, you'll fill up the refined qi super quick, together with talismans and sect branch mechanics.
I usually don't bother with the Inner cauldron and just rush my sect to late game so i can get spirit trees and other advance resources to start building strong cultivators. The cultivators that were used as stepping stones, you can always revert them back to mortals and recultivate them to fill up their Inner cauldron.
As for trying to get higher grade golden core in early game, its actually pretty easy.
You don't need crazy high qi pool. A decent amount is enough. You can consider getting +max qi, +qi attune & +stats skills from other Cultivation Laws and also eat +qi consumables like earth flux, evil flux, red ginseng, purple lingzhi etc. Breakthrough conditions are also extremely important, you'd want to have optimal season, timing, cultivation harmony, weather, fengshui, qi density etc. You can jump from a grade 4 to a grade 1 with perfect breakthrough conditions compared to suboptimal ones. Don't rely on Inner Cauldron.
Talking about the inner cauldron not normal Qi.
Ok thanks for confirming that.
Yea considered that option. Didn't wait in my last game but thought it would gimp their Qi pool in the long run.
Yes I know but best I achieved was level 2 with around 6500 Qi and the min-maxer in me can't live with that.
Just like cRPGs, min-max means you don't use companion NPCs with chaotic stat distribution, you'd want to create a custom character, so reincarnations is your go to.
The real min-max game in ACS is deep and insane. Normally, players aim for 7k to 30k qi at core shaping, the true min-maxers aim for 3-4million qi at core shaping.
That's all nice and dandy but some things you're saying here don't apply to the first disciple to get golden core. First of all 10k is impossible with only the basic manuals and weather spells are golden core so you need a golden core first for that. Your estimate of 10k or 9k is way too high, I reached level 2 with 6k without helping weather. So 7k is most likely enough.
