Is there a command for picking up stuff from the ground?

I know I can set work priority to "peon", but even after doing that for everyone and then disabling all other categories under "work" my disciples just stand around doing nothing while there are loads of resources on the ground and even some gear from a bandit.

I've tried building more storage, setting filters, sorting the old storage areas.. and nothing seems to work. I can ofc go and equip the gear that is on the ground, but then my old gear gets tossed there instead.

the way i understand it is your characters will only use stuff that is needed for a particular task - i think as i was wondering the same thing. what was the gear the bandit dropped?

Wolfskin tunic and pants if I remember correctly.. but the problem isn't that my characters aren't using the items. The problem is they aren't moving things to storage.. like if I go mine an area they'll move some of the stuff when they finish, but never go back to get the rest.

According to the working tab, peon work like transporting stuff to storage have the least priority. So unless they did every other task or you prio the peon work, they will never put those items back.
(Though you can prio an item manually below the "Ban" button.)
Solution, get more Outers and/or make exclusive PEONS.

This sounds more like a storage problem. Maybe erase and place new storages and dont change their settings. Check if that works, than change settings again and test again. Repeat until you see what screwed your settings.

Like I said I've already tried making everyone peons, disabled all their other task and all that happens is every just stands idle.

For the storage; I originally had two storage areas, one for consumables and one for everything else. Neither looked full when I started having this problem, but I tried to add another area anyway and it didn't help. And neither did deleting old storage areas and making new one... and nothing is being moved to the new storage. I think I'll just start a new game, I'm not that far in yet and I've already spent hours trying to fix this ingame.

If your outers are idle when objects are on the ground, something is wrong.
Probably something with storage settings, like Element, Tier, Only relects options.
If all ok, you can try save and load game, mb it fix problem.
Another solution, you can make trade area (if you have inner deciple), and click To trade area on this item. Also you can smelt this item for spirit stone.

So from what I've seen have you tried banning and then unbanning the items, as well as deleting ALL your storages (including trade) before replacing them? Were they marked for trade? Have you fiddled with the priority of any storages? Also, if you have any inners with the ability to animate a Vessel, I'd recommend trying that. For some reason even when my outer disciples want to be lazy, Vessels will still run around and grab stuff everywhere.
