I don't know whether or not to be happy about this release

I mean more exposure of this sort of stuff means it gets more acceptance overall and I'll see more of it in the future, which I really would like, but AliceSoft's games also tend to be really not vanilla. I'm not referring to Rance either, as much as he disregards consent when he goes after women he at least regards their pleasure as paramount to the experience. Knowing what happens in Rance X, Spoilers

Aster's girls get mindbroken and tentacle'd graped by a demon lord-ish creature as a cameo

Alicesoft kinda has it in for netorare. I can get into it but it always leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I kinda wish this would instead lead to more english translated releases of Momoiro Closet-like eroges. Ones that primarily have vanilla and lovey dovey scenes, where the grapes are optional or at least avoidable.

Yeah but there are scenes that are decidedly not vanilla and lovey dovey. And you can't avoid or prevent these events from taking place. Unlike Momoiro closet which is vanilla all the way through.

Edit: For a comparison Treasure Hunter Claire has at least one non-vanilla unavoidable H-scene, but Evenicle has several I can't avoid because its part of the critical path . Treasure Hunter Claire at least puts the non-vanilla as something I can avoid when I'm not in the mood, or something I have to actively aim to get. Also including the Evenicle camoes in Rance X

Its just cameo, not canon. And anyways, we need to wait for Evenicle 2 to learn whats Aster and gang is doing

Its just cameo, not canon. And anyways, we need to wait for Evenicle 2 to learn whats Aster and gang is doing

The worry is that, being its Alicesoft, there's going to be netorare somewhere there. They always do.

At least I hope it stays a cameo. I'm not sure if Evenicle and Rance share a universe or continuity between each other.

Aster does do dimension-traveling shenanigans towards the end of Evenicle though, making the cameo appearance still possible as canon.

They don't share an universe. I wouldn't even call the scene you mentioned as a cameo, but just they using the design of those girls for a scene of a villain with some nameless girls.

There is actually a Evenicle cameo on Part 2, where it is mentioned Aster participate on the Toushin Toshi tournament, wins a match and then goes away with his 4 wives
