I appreciate the game for what it is. I think people go in expecting the wrong type of game. This game is creepy and fun. I suggest playing with headphones as this provides a much better experience. You answer several questions and get interesting reponses with a brilliant soundscape in the background. There is no skill involved.

I do think it is important to tell people about jumpscares especially if you expect them to wear headphones. I equate these to yelling in someone's ear... and find them more rude than scary. In my opinion, the game is better without them. It ruins the creepy vibe.

there is a jumpscare at the very end of the first test that happens twice, and the second test has several depending on how many questions you get wrong. It's mostly noise and a CP scary face/torso

Overall I appreciate what these two developers did, and I think there is a lot of potential with the concept! 20 mins of gametime for a good sale price is what I would say.

This should be a $1 game if that. It's a neat meta concept with poor execution and relatively no gameplay. The Jumpscares are a cheap replacement for genuine tenseness and well-crafted horror. If they manage to add a plethora of content in the next few months that actually create a psychologically-horrifying atmosphere i'll come back and give it another chance, but until that happens this game is not worth your time or 5 bucks.

This game has a really cool premise and I was excited to play it. The psychological horror subgenre works by getting under the audience's skin, and what better way to do that than having them straight-up tell you what scares them?

Except that's not what this game does at all. The approach it takes instead could be summed up more accurately as "OOH I'M INSIDE YOUR HOUSE! SPOOKY!! I DON'T LIKE YOU. ARE YOU SCARED OF ME YET?". It's cheap and juvenile, and it ruins the suspension of disbelief because I know the game can't get inside my house and kill me. When your premise, a personality test, is implicitly grounded in reality, you can't present a completely unrealistic threat and expect it to work. There's a lot of other silly stuff too, like repetitive stock audio of a man screaming, and some really cheesy writing that reminds me of stuff I made in early high school. Even at its best, the writing was just.. not spectacular. It felt like it could have come from any number of dime-a-dozen horror games that try to address the audience.

The only part of the game that really affected me were the jumpscares, which I hate on principle because they're more startling than scary and take almost no real skill to execute. They weren't even done that well, either - I saw the first one coming from a mile away, and the ones after that came in such quick succesion that I became numb to them entirely.

There is one good thing I can say about the game, and it's that (outside of the silly cgi jumpscare man), the visual presentation really makes the most of what I'm assuming was a very low budget. The parts with the fullscreen images were actually pretty cool, and even though the text glitching effect wasn't really necessary, it did at least look really good.

I am a fan of psychological analysis tests like this, but at the same time l feel as if the game hyped itself up to offer more than it really gave. In truth this game is really not as intense as it tries to make itself out to be, and the few jumpscares it has are both minimal and cheap. I played the game twice through to see if the test became more intense and/or changed drastically with different answers, but all in all it's generally the same experience no matter. The answers you pick have no real effect on your experience and only focus on one fear (home invasion) rather than changing based on your specific fears, something that you might have expected from this type of game.

Still the little atmosphere the game does try to build can be unnerving and creepy at times, the visuals and sfx is good, and if you ARE scared of home invasion (I'm personally not), then this might actually be a good horror experience for you. It's really not the worst horror game out there. At most it's a bit underwhemling and maybe even a little edgy, but still a kind of entertaining game. With it's cheap price tag I can't help but recommend playing it at least once, whether for genuine scares or just for laughs.

I really think this game should be free or maybe like a dollar. I have less than 30 minutes in game and I have already done the whole thing. I was expecting a lot more and probably wouldn't buy it again if it was on sale. It wasn't very scary either, and tried to do the whole "I am in your house" thing and wasn't very effective. Also jumpscares were very predictable. Overall like a 2/10. (though the pop goes the weasel part was cool, but it wasn't worth 5 dollars)

Buy it if it's on sale - it's worth only about USD$1.00 in my opinion, certainly not worth USD$5.00.
The jumpscares absolutely ruin any tension this game tries to build up, and is most certainly its worst feature - a game like this works with psychological horror, building unease which is supposed to linger in the back of your mind long after you close the game. Make you think "what if there really IS someone in my house?" etc.
But the jumpscares answer the question, at least emotionally. They provide an out for your emotions, a catharsis, which ruins all suspense.
Also the questions are a bit... eeeh, to be honest. The premise is pure genius, though.
A quiz which asks you increasingly bizarre questions, in tandem with the slow text speed and glitching text, is brilliant.
Such a shame this couldn't live up to its potential. Should've been released for free, personally, but the concept and execution of the first half is good enough to warrant USD$1.00 in my opinion. Nothing more, though.

My hope is someone rips this concept and puts it into a different horror game as a sort of minigame, as that feels like it'd be where a quiz like this is best suited. A companion to a game, not a standalone.
Well, that, or dress it up to make it actually look like a real, actual quiz which becomes increasingly glitchy and unsettling as it goes on, and then plop it on an actual website, not on Steam, thus potentially catching people off-guard.
