If you pick mod from there see its upload date - anything from Better Resource till now will work.
Prior that time (around may 2021) almost anything which is not ship or ship packsl Wil screw you game save.
If you want to use ship before that time, you have to be prepared for some serious editing if you want to make them work.
About that time there were some changes to some ship stats, some was removed, some was added and old ship mods use the old fie format, with missing or obsolete lines. .
It's possible that whey will load into your game, but with huge chance to cause errors.

* What you referring to isn't a credit multiplier for the mission reward, it is a basic credit reward for each mission. There are real multipliers beside that that further affect the final credit reward for each mission, but what you see in missions_database.txt is just the basic credit reward. This isn't that important, but i choose to mentioned it for the sake of clarification.
* You don't see any changes for mission reward because you are trying to change the rewards for ongoing save. The game event already generated mission based on the previous missions_database.txt, so you either have to start a new game to see the immediate effect of the mod in the game or have to wait until the mission generator starts to populate the Stations with mission events from the modded database.
If you are not happy with the unrealistically hight bounty for killing free roam Raiders get eXperinental - i got that fixed there 🤣
You can't claim sector. This feature was planned as part of the the Faction wars part of the game, but... oh, well..
To fix your Raiders spawn time:
* Go to:
....MOD/saves/NameOfYourPilot
* Open:
player_options.txt
*Find that line:
WORLD_OPTIONS_raider_spawn_timer;
* and change the timer to whatever number you like. 600 means 10 min between spawns
