but would still be weird. Not all games need or benefit from controller support an IMO this is one game that falls into that catergory.
Try playing Eve Online with a controller, it would be just impossible.
Buttons can be hold for "shift-like" functions.
I play X games this way, and they are enjoyable on the big screen + couch.
Shameless Necro, I know.
Dual Joystick device mapping would be preferred.
virpil stick one - throttle and roll with various button mapping
Virpil stick two - pitch and yaw with various button mapping.
Again thanks.
It's also not software to optimally unload TEUs.
It doesn't need to be a flight simulator to have controller support. The truth is, more and more PC gamers are choosing to recline like kings and queens while they play, rather than sit at a desk like a kid in primary school.
But...
This game is very clearly designed entirely for mouse and keyboard use only. As someone who tries their best to build their own custom steam controller and steam deck layouts for almost every game, I just can't imagine this game working with a gamepad. _Everything_ about the game is mouse-driven. You can probably get by with a setup mapping the right stick/pad to mouse movement, and some radial menus to make menu-switching easier, but that's probably the best you'll get. Even with my best attempts at clever control mapping wizardry, this game is painfully frustrating to play or even stream on my Steam Deck.
The game would need its UI completely rebuilt from scratch in order to accommodate built-on controller navigation, and I am pretty certain that that will never happen, given the game seems to by all appearances have been abandoned. If you are holding out for built-in controller support, don't hold your breath.
