Buy/Sell Orders problems
I made 90.1m in few hours... of course after first 500k mining which took ~6 hours.

This Sell/Buy Order feature renders all other game play elements pointless.

Who wants to do any missions for 4-10k credits when you can make 4-10m the same time on market.

You guys have to figure this out as i lost motivation to continue for now.

+1, mining is too grindy, buy/sell is a (design) exploit, missions have waaaay too small rewards, some balancing is sorely needed here.

Balancing is currently being worked on, an endless thing lol. It will take time and suggestions to get it just right.

Any suggestions or numbers are always welcomed. If you feel comfortable, try modding to test different numbers out to see what feels about right.

The main issue i see is that in order to buy large ships 100-1000m, you are forced to do buy/sell orders as refinery is only useful in the first 2 hours, then it's just a wasted time. Kill missions will probably cost more than it pays due to repairs/ammo and travel times.

I would even suggest completely removing buy/sell orders until you fix them.

You could make it faction rank based, and make the yield player level based. Like at player level 10 you could get buy/sell order with profit of 100k max, level 100 would be 1m profit.

Same with mission rewards, boost them to make it worthwhile to consider as alternative to buy/sell orders.

I second that buy/sell orders are way unbalanced. I would suggest that items could get marked and remember where you bought them. Stations should not buy back items from sell orders. I have also seen sell orders which had pretty much exactly what was needed for a buy order. This does not make any sense. Either an item is surplus or it's out of stock.
By forcing a player to procure the items from other stations or selling to other stations, the profit per hour should sink drastically and bring it more in line with mining.

Well make orders in the 1-10k range usually, with basic products, rather than 50M orders for 100 superduper Lasers or such, or 500 blueprints, that are currently way more frequent than 10k ones !

The problem is that every station has this kind of problem where both the items it has a shortage for (buy orders) and surplus (sell orders) are the same. So you can just buy all of the buy orders and then sell all of the sell orders and always make profit. This should not actually be possible.

I knew someone would open their mouth about this.

Talked with momo and this is being looked at. Currently larger bugs will be fixed first. But this will be addressed sooner than later.

hehe, kind of how i felt when i found i could mine a high $$ return said rock, didnt take much time to make $$ compared to others, at first when scenarios are put into effect not enough thinking on the outcome, have to be careful what you implement for their is always someone out there who will try to find loopholes or will stumble upon one innocently. I saw some but decided for my own game play experience i wont use its exploit and just enjoy the game as it was intended, i look at it like a wild card if and when needed.

also, does anyone use the market news that is provided in the stargypsy warehouse and actually take advantage of it ? is it actually updated ?

yes, news is actually telling you where and what things are happening. from faction swings to new ships on the market. it is all real, and real time.

But I feel like adjusting those orders to your lvl is bad idea. I think it just rather should be that, the same station shouldn't be having buy orders on things they actually sell. In that case you would need to fly and read news so anyways you would need some cargo in your ship so low lvl wouldn't make milions in minutes cuz they got no ship for it. I think it would be good balanced then and news would actually be useful to make money cuz as for now they're not while you can just buy and sell all on the same station

I never used the buy order in that way. I used the sell orders. If you bought a sell order the discount was often astronomical and you could buy one for 35M and sell everything back for 60M straight up. I never even realised buy orders wanted stuff that could be bought at the same station. Plus if you just buy every sell order very very early on you could get a level a station and make a tiny profit too ie the 10k(ish) ones.

Balance across all forms of making currency is needed , do not single out buy/sell orders and make that gameplay boring for those who enjoy that kind of thing. Just make the others just as profitable. Mining ore i enjoy for some odd reason, i would like to see that brought up to par buy/sell profits.
