There's no workshop support yet but from what Scott Manley said in one of his videos you can drag and drop your ship to a text-document and it will show up as text, you can then modify it manually or leave it as is and drag it back into the VAB. I haven't tried it though but that would be a way to share your build.

You can also CTRL-C to copy it to clipboard. CTRL-V to paste either to the VAB or a text editor...or email or the web or chat... :)

Devs confirmed on forums that this is definitely an intended feature and not going anywhere.
