Kerbal Space Program 2

Feb 2025 KSP2 vs KSP1 player count
Remember when this would get you crucified by ksp2 white knights back in 2023? Good times.

KSP1 - about 2000 current players
https://steamdb.info/app/220200/info/

KSP2 - about 100 current players
https://steamdb.info/app/954850/charts/

Just a friendly reminder that Nate Simpson sucks bawls at making video games.

You're sick.

He does have something of a point on the dangers of white knighting and cope ism. So many people now(I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of the biggest complainers now, weren't at one point, among it's biggest defenders) whining about refunds, and still being on the store, corporate greed, and scams. When white knights probably had more to do with promoting a borderline scam than take two or valve ever did. Some of that could have been avoided if enablers hadn't been masking problems that were evident even before early access was announced, let alone after. Stupid is it's own reward.

Well... I got the game for free from those white knights. "I wish I could get 2." he said, "Then you can buy it for me." I said and here i am. If you play your cards right you won't get scammed. :lunar2020confidentrooster:

Notice I'm not stupid enough to have a mouse beside my name. I didn't need freebies to understand the tittle had problems.

Idk about him but I'm here to gloat, I wasn't dumb enough to buy this either. I saw this coming even in 2020 and always got told the same usual nonsense about "It's ready when it's ready, you don't want it to come out broken and unfinished do you? Give them as many years as they ask for and the game will be great". Time always has such a nice way of bearing out the truth when people operate according to false assumptions about reality. What have they all to say now?

What do you mean? The game was in alpha. Of course, a game in its alpha stage would have problems. No one could have predicted that the developers would disappear.

It wasn't supposed to be in Alpha the game was supposed to be a full release in 2020 and then was delayed 3 years for a team of that size it's pretty dismal. more man hours were spent on KSP2 than KSP and it wasn't even close to being on par

Nonsense. I say again, it is not a problem whether the game is in alpha or not.

Highly inaccurate, use the 24h peak as that's a better representation as to how high it really gets. The "current" one is very inaccurate, as it depends too much on the time of day, it can either be really low or really high.

KSP1 - 3,661 peak
KSP2 - 168 peak

I think this gives you a much better idea of player count.
Over 3k concurrent players from a game that is nearly 10 years old is pretty solid.
At this point, Star Citizen looks like a better bet if you want a ready-to-play complete space sim game before 2030.

I mean... I'm pretty sure that when they went from all of their communications having a tone and tenor of intending to launch a feature complete polished game to launching a barren Early Access that was completely broken at launch; I do recall a plethora of people, including my self, who did in fact predict that the developers would disappear....
