Contakt SpaceX or Elon Musk
I have no idea how it could work, but maybe someone can contact Elon Musk and ask for support for the game

I've always felt that playing KSP is like playing the story of SpaceX

Just another stupid idea, but some stupid ideas have become great :D

Why is it bait? Musk owns a space company. Musk plays video games. For all we know Musk is a KSP fan. I think it is a whimsical topic, but there is nothing wrong with dreaming of remote possibilities to save the game/IP we love.

"EM should buy the game..."

---> Adding pricey add-ons to paint kerbals in blue skin...
---> then fire the KSP forum moderations
----> firing the KSP developpers.
----> Getting the idea of buying steam on the way.
---> buying steam and fire all the steam staff.
----> Definetely trashing steam.

Find another tech company to trash.
Repeat.

Never mention KSP to Musk, he will just trash it moarrr as all the rest of his companies. He was lucky with latest SpaceX milestone (if you consider reusable rockets a milestone and that useful to mankind), the only difference with NASA is that he can just throw money away with multiple attempts to test a rocket (he plays in easy mode with unlimited fundings cheat).

What NASA cannot do, because, you know, it's public money so no risks taken because the president would cut fundings otherwise... Well, that was the logic in normal mode aka reality before Trumptards.

Why do you need to bring your politics into it? Hasn't politics ruined enough? Life is better when we ignore each others politics while playing and discussing games together. And I would say the same to anyone regardless of their views.

EM being in politics, I consider my post in due line with the topic of the original poster. Don't answer on a post mentioning a billionaire trumptard if you do not want politics in your version of Steam.

Most of time I might agree with you. But in this case Musk owns a company that does exactly what KSP is and he certainly has the money to help it out. I feel sad for you that you can't just have some fun with that part of the discussion. TDS is a debilitating disease.

I was mentionning the "business genius" wunderkind modus operandi all along in my first post (99% of my content).
So, I believe what is sad is not knowing this guy is a political member of the US government in 2025.

I partially disagree with your Musk assessment, anyone who gets to a personal wealth of $400 billion, kind of is a "business genius" IMO, whether we like it or not. I have an issue when people think he is an engineering genius. He has some really dumb engineering ideas.

I have no real issue with 99% of your post. I like a good back and forth, but it's that other 1% of the post where you call Trump supporters ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. That was just mean and unnecessary when it comes to a discussion with fellow gamers.

In any case, this idea has been proposed repeatedly in the past -- if it was likely to happen, then it would have already happened.

With a bit of luck, the right person will read this at some point.

But compared to other problems in the world, we (humanity) should solve these first

Hey, to cut a political long story short...
This person, Elon Musk, is following a plan.
He wants to land on Mars. He has the means, and possibly soon the influence, to realise this plan more quickly. I suspect (even if this sounds like storytelling) that EM is actually just pursuing his goal and wants to play a bit on the side. It's not for nothing that DT is his chosen play-buddy. :D

It doesn't need elon musk. Many existing studios out their are more then capable of rebuilding or carrying on this project. But with its current state and market rating anyone willing to buy it will be expecting one hell of a discount. So the publishers have few options. Create a new studio/pay an existing out of house one to carry it on. Something i don't think they're eager to fund at this point honestly. Sell the IP. Or leave the IP on the back bench. Though if its the last option Steam really needs to force their hand on this price tag. The store page should at the very least disclose the game has no development team.

I mean, a lot of our rockets and Starship share a commonality: they struggle to make orbit and experience harsh re-entries.
