The only upside to KSP2 is the visuals, at the cost of much, much worse performance.
Performance is actually kind of okay, but it's a bit of a stretch to say the least. No big builds would be a wise choice.
Your best take is to go with KSP1 and just look what happens to KSP2 in the meanwhile.
But unless it goes on a 90% sale I would stay away.
If it was still developed it would still be expensive as heck and since it's not, $5 sure for some decent fun and bug avoiding, but at "full" price, heck no.
AAA price for an abandoned early access game.
It's still worth getting when on a 90 to 95% off sale but no way in Hades at full $50 price tag.
That's a good point. There's a small group of modders working on finishing the game. I'd pay $5 for it, in hopes they succeed. If they do, it might be worth $10 one day for the modded experience. Maybe. But no more than $5 today. There is a playable game here, just not very much of one.
