People please calm down. System Requirements are fine.
This youtuber debunks this pretty well. So please, calm down.

I wouldn't call it fine. kerbal simps having been doing damage control all weekend. They wanted feedback and they got it. Their pr manager is inept.

The game is in Early Access as well. What did everyone expect. In software development, it's better to get everything to work, and then find out what is loosing you the most performance. It's just logical.

No, it's not.

Why?

I have tons of issues with EA for this title... but the fact that its unoptimized is defo not one of them.. thats standard for EA and makes complete sense.
KSP1 could also cripple pretty much any machine if you added enough parts and satalites to your games.

The only thing i'm scared off, with req's like this, even if they get it optimized, adding the features down the line would bring them back up again.

*Me, barelly exeeding minimum specs, watching people complain about little (and usual) Early Access details for KSP2, as a 2013 Star Citizen backer*
You guys do as you want, but for me, I'll buy it day one, that's for sure.
Oleander Feb 20, 2023 @ 6:50am
Less than 35% of Steam users meet the minimum spec, and less than 4% exceed recommended spec. Now you see why people are not happy.

Massive system requirements on release = Shoddy/poor/lazy game development!
AegisFalcon Feb 20, 2023 @ 7:42am
We are not on Star Citizen, it's not justified to have such performance on a game like this. They just don't make any effort

i guess im in the 4% so guess im playing in 4k ultra graphics with my 3090 TI
Coffee Fox Feb 20, 2023 @ 8:00am
Ah, it's funny how so many people are complaining. I for one am glad to have an RTX 3090 TI. I should have no issues running this game with horsepower to spare.

The game is early access. I assume it will be optimized as time goes on, and the minimum specs will be lowered. You lot need to get over yourselves. The original KSP when it first released ran like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too and I find it ridiculous that so many people seem to have forgotten that.

More like rushed, plus it's not released yet - we're still in EA here. Optimization passes are late in the development cycle.

If it concerns you, I'd suggest waiting to buy until Intercept has really hunkered down on optimization, which may still be a while yet. Unity especially is notorious for requiring a ton of performance tuning.

performances are not fine look at everyday astronaut video the Thrusters are literally stuttering the whole game and the ship wasnt even that big, here we go again with the avengers defenders
4% exceed recommended spec But yeah guys its fine!!! oh please its not fine at all

Lagging with a 3080 and a medium sized rocket is not fine, particularly coming from an AA studio that has had years to work on it, along with the KSP 1 source code, it's no wonder the publisher is now forcing them release it at $50, I have no confidence in this developer to deliver on their road map, this game has more red flags than a meeting of the CCP.

Wow great that you have an expensive, top of the line system. I would also not complain if i could throw money at a problem.

Yeah it is "early acces" but its also not ksp 1 anymore, with no established fan base and massive publisher funding. I get that it was delayed massively by covid and other problems but to look at the most recent gameplay and think "wow this looks like a massive improvement, and will not take years to bring to the promised state" is just a joke response.

I love ksp 1 and i hope this one succeeds but the willfull ignorance here is weird.
