Fairings
Just out of curiosity, I cannot figure out how to shape my interstage fairings. I know it's possible because I saw Matt Lowne do it on one of his videos but he didn't show how he made it editable...just showed him shaping it. I don't see any option to edit its shape. Clearly I am missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am more than irritated with it. Thanks in advance to anybody who offers some help.

The fairing has an icon appear when moused over (I think it was an "X")

Click on that and you should get a new style gizmo for editing the fairing.

Hmm, the only icon I see when I hover over the fairing is the eye icon that lets me see through the fairing to my engine inside. This was much simpler in KSP 1. I am not sure why I am not seeing any additional icons pop up. So I have my upper stage, then its engine on the bottom, and I add a decoupler below that...it automatically makes a crap fairing. I turned off "enable fairing" to see if there was another way to build the fairing but I am not seeing one. Thank you for the response, Ogre.

There is a wrench icon on the fairing once you highlight it, click on that. Then stretch the arrows to build each stage of the fairing, once you are done with a stage click the PLUS sign, click MINUS sign to delete the last stage. Once you are done click the green checkmark. If you want to delete all the fairing stages and start over click the red x.

I dont want to spend the time to read the responses so ill give you quick instructions in case they didnt.

1. click the gear icon
2. raise as high as you want
2.b. when your ready to close it, press the + on the right side, raise it one or two notches, then pull the right arrow in until it meets in the middle. NOTE: if its the top then youll be left with a tiny hole, which will auto close when you press the check mark.
3. if you need to make it wider, widen it, then press+ then raise... you can wash and repeat. Go to 2.b.

Each + is an additional 'level' that can be widened or made more narrow. Think ribs inside a tube. Those ribs can be made bigger or smaller and the skin will form over them.
