The game takes down all user control of their own mouse and keyboard lighting for a stupid gimmick. Apparently, they do stuff with key lighting now for things like countdown sequence and so forth. Which, I'm sure would be great for some.
I can't tell which mode my programmable mouse is in now and all of my keyboard keys have gone dark. I can touch type fine, but if I'm looking for a key, I can't see anything!
Seems to be no checkbox to turn this off in the game either.
I guess I have to go check my Logitech keyboard and mouse drivers to see if there is an update just for this game.
I'm using the following:
There are no settings in the game options to toggle off the actions they have implemented in their game to take over my keyboard/mouse lighting.
If you alt-tab out of their game, they still maintain control over your keyboard/mouse lighting. I can't see anything.
However, I did not have this "G Hub" software installed previously.
When I installed it, there was no option to disable KSP2, because I had not ever enabled or downloaded anything related to a KSP2 acknowledgement in this G-Hub application. There seems to be some sort of update for games that I can choose, but I still did NOT see any reference to KS2 that I could select/acknowledge. The G Hub software had no idea of the existence of KSP2 for all I can tell.
But, once the G Hub software was installed, my keboard and mouse lights are no longer being disabled by KSP2 running on my machine.
Does this mean G-Hub installs some unknown Logitech driver? No idea, but it works.
Will I use this G-Hub software in the future? NO
Still a tad miffed that I had to install something that I have no intention of using because KSP2 seems to render my keyboard and mouse lights useless without it.
wtf are you even talking about Ghub basicly is your logitech keyboard mouse driver.
(you should have it installed period)
there is also a setting in ghub that GLOBALY let´s you turn off "let apps control lightning"
wich you should do as it can and will cost you fps and frametime spikes.
G-Hub was absolutely NOT a requirement prior to this game. It's an application, that now stands independently from my "Logitech Gaming Software" application that I actually use to program my keyboard and mouse lighting.
So I don't really know what you are talking about. G-Hub is not something I needed prior to this specific game.
In fact, the checkbox for the thing you mention is ENABLED (and yet my keyboard/mouse lights now work for some reason?) but the stupid software does not recognize that I have any Logitech peripheral installed. So to me, it's worthless beyond enabling keyboard/mouse lights when KSP2 is running.
I had assumed, as you suggest, that if I installed G-Hub and it is the new driver, that the old "Logitech Gaming Software" interface that I use would be over written. It was not. G-Hub does Not recognize my keyboard/mouse and the (we will call it old for your benefit) software still resides.
Seems that may very well be the case. Prior to this game was not an issue and apparently I may not be the only one impacted.
"Some years ago" suggests it's been out there a long time. Personally, I had no idea, and a check on Logitech drivers did not reflect anything out of date. In fact, I reinstalled the recommended drivers per the Logitech website and still got no indication that I needed G-Hub.
Gonna chalk this one up to Logitech being sloppy on my attempts to update my system. Which the G-Hub software still fails to recognize my Logitech attached devices, BTW.
But at the same time... the recommendation I am seeing is that we all should go into our driver and disable KSP2. Something that KSP2 should probably not have touched in the first place.
But, is that what the kids are doing these days? Should I expect all new games will want to take over my keyboard lighting now?
On a side note... GET OFF MY LAWN!!!! LOL
