Dates / timeline on road map?
Hi,

Can we please get some dated goals on the road map? It would help a lot if you were clearer and could let us know if we're talking mostly weeks for each stage, or a month(s) ... (please don't say years like a 7 Days to Die style *perpetual* alpha).

Not exactly starting from a position of trust if this game was intended to be launched more than 2 years ago and this is the current state of it; while also being asked to pay near enough to a AAA title price.

You and I both know why they didn't put dates on the roadmap

I'd be willing to assume the community will stick by them if they're open and honest. That way, we can all make an informed decision.

There's enough case studies out there in recent years that hiding behind PR and legal teams is bad news for business.
After going through the "what´s your specs..." threat I´ll definately wait until it´s actually being optimized... I´m on 1080p and can run all newer games with decent frame rates at mostly high settings (even Flight Sim 2020 and that says alot)... from what I can gather there´s absolutely no hope running Kerbal 2 in this state. Not going to risk 50 bucks on the pure hope that I´ll eventually get to play it within an unknown timeframe...

Soon™
5 years if they put everything in it that is on the road map, but there is a chance they won't

I've checked the game code (using dotpeek) and from completion of features i would say :
Sciences in 1 to 2 months
Modding in 1 to 4 months
Colonies in 4 to 8 months
But then you can have a case where their pretty much set to release something then bam. Something goes astray and then people rip them apart for having to delay it. Seem like now a days in the gaming it dammed if you do dammed if you dont.

Nobody will care of this game in 5 years.

I like to hear that however could you give more information on how you came to that conclusion from the code?

many of the things on their roadmap are just outright impossible because they'll drop the game to 10fps.
they can't even be attempted until they can get the current version to stay above 60.

Because doing so would be a violation of the Steam EA policy?

Sorry, you're right - I posted here because I don't have forum accounts elsewhere, but their website is equally vague e.g. the FAQ states "until we feel it's ready"

I explained in detail in this reddit post I made there where I explained how advanced were a few features :

The Steam EA policy isn't about where the information is, it's about what it is. It specifically says to not guarantee things you can't guarantee, like roadmap feature release dates.
