Drops to around 20-30 on launch (Depending on size of craft and how many parts)
50+ FPS in space so far.
My issue hasnt been performance. mostly im having issues with parts not working correctly and ♥♥♥♥ just utterly breaking for no reason.

Edit: I unsubscribed the discussion
Not entirely pointless. It still provides a general sense of fps ratios depending on in-game status and between different brands. For example, having low fps in space is obviously an outlying result, looking at this thread. Furthermore, that problem has been reported by people with both Nvidia and AMD GPUs, so the GPU manufacturer can be ruled out as the determining factor. Quite useful stuff in my opinion.

My system is by far not a top tier machine nor bottom tier. But i get 48-52 fps during launch with upto 12 engines firing at one time. my fps does not drop from 48-52 either at ground level or in outer space. I have gone to minmus and the mun. When in outer space or above 48km altitude i get 72-136 fps. in vab or any facilities i get 136-175fps. This is at 1080p. with maximum graphics.
I do not know nor understand how everyone is claiming the game has so little fps when the only way i got my fps to dip below 40 fps was to put 20 engines firing at one time and then zoom in on the engines and then i got 10-15 fps.
This feels, looks, and acts like bad optimizations in logic code and will prolly be fixed in near future.
GPU running at 100% (or 99%) is very normal and this is what you want, you clearly have no idea of what you are talking abou
Similar FPS results except running on 1440.
i9 10850K oc'd w/ 32G ram RTX3070Ti 8G
Built it for MSFS which runs great, so I knew KSP2 should be okay. Once they patch the performance, it'll be super.

i have 5800x, 3080ti and 32 gig ram and playign on 1440p res
i have 14-35 fps on launch pad.
i would believe that some thread on the cpu is running 100% and slowing everything down , that would explain why people like you having similar setup and better cpu get more fps ( event at higher RES), also considering my gpu utulisation is not close to 99%.
