Mechjeb
Will mechjeb be available from day one? Or on the contrary it will no longer be necessary for less skilled players like me.

don't know what they plan to do long term for modding but they do have a section on their forum just like they do for ksp1. it only has one mod in it but i hope it starts to populate over time. I love mechjeb also, never really saw the point in doing the flying myself unless i had to. Since it could do a better job like 95% of the time.
I'd love to see the devs officially adopt the MechJeb mod and implement it full-scale in the vanilla game, just so the 'purists' can have a conniption fit.

It's such an important and core mod for at least 90% of KSP 1 players that I am rather surprised it's not already in KSP 2.

Or better that they don't and the purists have to handcraft every single trip to found a space colony.
Well, given that one of the aims was to make Kerbal easier to get into. I for one expected that they would include a 'mechjeb' equivalant.

Also I am finding it much harder in KSP2 than KSP1 in getting into orbit.

Getting into orbit is completely trivial in the new game. I installed the new game and I was in a stable orbit in 15 minutes including the launch time and figuring out how to build a ship in the new system. What is a little more of a challenge though is designing a ship that has enough Delta-V to do "something else" after achieving orbit. Like land on another planetary body for example. But reaching a stable orbit in KSP 2 is no more difficult than it was in KSP 1.

There are many ways to utilize a game like this.

Played 2200 hours KSP and did MANY manual missions.
My artworks were tweeted by the developers, I made thousands of awesome screenshots.
Is my fun wrong?
seems like mechjeb has been built in...

i had issues w/ ksp 1.. but ksp2 - i made it to orbit my 3rd try.

maybe its "easier" but still. was nice making an orbit, then landing near KSC on my 3rd try.

Also on their website they take a paragraph to tell everyone they take modding seriously and want to support the modding community, and plan to support mods as soon as possible.

As stability and performance improve, we will continue to devote resources to opening up more areas of the game to modders during Early Access. Our first modding priority in the coming months will be to provide greater access to part modders. We'll release more information on modding support once Early Access is underway.
