KSP 2 in-game progression
KSP 2 has a great promise to bring in things that only mods could in KSP 1. One of the main problem for me in KSP 1 was the unrealistic engineering progress. You started with kerbal grade hardware... I think KSP 2 should have a special game mode where you can improve your agency from tiny sounding rockets all the way to huge interstellar transport ships and colonies. Obviously that is not for everyone, but i can imagine that it would geather a huge fanbase quickly.

What about career mode in KSP 1, or do you mean something a bit more in depth than that?

Yes, definietly something more challenging and rewarding. Sounding rockets and kerbal (human) garde rockets have huge differences IRL, and all KSP games negate these differences. I thought about something betwen the KSP1 RO mod and the original KSP. You should have to start with literal carborard tubes and rocket candy and work your way up to nuclear interstellar engines...yes it's more challenging but also extremely more rewarding.

KSP always seems more focused on missions with Kerbals on board, which I think does make it more interesting and even more challenging, because you have to return them safely.

What kind of gameplay would there be with sounding rockets? And how long would it go on for? After you do that once it's like the same thing over and over.

You mean a bit like that Next Space Rebels where you start with a plastic bottle and stuff?
I don't really see how that could fit in the KSP space center theme but I would be interested to see what you had in mind.
