Kerbal Space Program 2

Kerbal Space Program 2

Are you serious with that price tag?
( Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Yes, KSP 2 will sell for $49.99 (SRP) during Early Access, and we expect that the price will be raised at 1.0 release.” )

This is a joke right? I been sitting here waiting patiently for the games release and your gonna release it as Early access with that price tag? I understand if it was a pre order price and than change the price after release, But $50 for an EA? That is in my opinion too steep. The right way to do early access is to give out a demo with locked features and update the demo based on what you are working on to give people the experience of playing it and get the help with development. Cause if you did a demo instead, that would prevent lots of negative reviews if you have a bad feature or something isnt right. People are quick to judge a game if they have the ability to and that will hurt future revenue. Demos dont let people give game-play reviews on the steam page. Also what your charging for early access is showing signs of corporate greed and that wont help in the long run. Cause by the time the game is released, who is gonna be left to pay that full price tag after everyone has bought it for the EA price tag? Not very many and you wont get the results your expecting and your company will have trouble financing future productions.

Its so expensive because the EA is essentially KSP 1 but with more parts and better graphics, early access or not. (Minus the science system, and a few other things.)

so you want EA for free and you think companies making money is "corporate" greed? KSP was EA for years and it wasn't free. It was 23 bucks ten years ago. KSP2 is a niche game and if you want to play it you'll have to support it with money and not just a sense of entitlement.

Never said for free. I said a playable demo to help with development. Just giving out money lately to EA games has been a very bad experience for many including myself. EA games are very hard to trust right now and for that amount of money im expecting at least 75% game-play. From what i gather so far its not even close to half.

"give out a demo" as the "right way" to do EA is literally EA for free. I don't understand why you can't just admit what you said, but anyway ...

The price for KSP2 It def is more than I want to pay but KSP1 was 23 bucks 10 years ago for EA and Baldur's Gate 3 is 60 bucks right now in EA. I bought BG3, no regrets. Things cost what they cost and, like it or not, businesses are in the business of making money. This is simple stuff. Your impatient tantrums aren't any sort of currency.

I'll def buy KSP2 if it continues to look promising. It's not like some other not for profit game delelopment charity is going to make the KSP2 of my dreams and give it out for free

While it is far more than what I would pay for EA, I expect it to be in a more polished state when I do buy it, probably after the first few reviews is out for the EA.

If their intent is go try and go $70 with the full release, uh.

I dunno who would be making those decisions, but if so, you need to tell them to knock it off. Now.

KSP is a niche experience that became as popular as is/was because of a low barrier of entry and the dedicated work of modders. Putting a AAA paywall in front of the game is going to hurt both of those things.

i like KSP 1 alot but with KSP 2 goes in early accses and that after the development already have a long time passet and now coems to early accses with many features still missing and that for 50€. I'm very disapointed that they go that route. Maybe i'm wrong and KSP 2 early accses version ahve already many features included like base building on differnt planets, research for new tech, gather ressoruces on different planets, a campagne where we msut build our own space company hire kerbals, reserach new techologies, keep our budget heatlhy and so on.

You can always wait on serious reviews and the general opinion of people before going into EA. If its already close to what KSP1 is today, then its perfectly fine. Maybe go :spy: to be absolutely sure not to get scammed before buying it.

The thing that worries me the most is the fact that the flagship feature is at the very bottom of the roadmap: Multiplayer.
This entire EA thing is very sus to me.

Shrug, games are cheap man. Pretty much every other hobbie is going to cost you far more, even if its just gas driving to where ever you do the hobbie. I never got why people balk so much at paying 60$ for a video game.

If its too much money you really need to go get a job. If your job doesn't pay enough you shouldn't be playing video games you should be figuring out what needs to be done to get a higher paying job.

let me stop you there with that job thing. Im pretty well off as you can see from my excessive game inventory on my profile, What im mostly going on about is the cost for an EA game that wont turn out to be expected of it. I have wasted soo much money on EA games for them to 75% be mostly flops in the end or abandoned. Hence why i prefer a demo be made instead of paying for something that will possibly go no where in the future. Buying into EA makes devs not have to do to much, cause they end up getting a boost of cash flow and they start to take their time with development. Then they make a certain amount and then sometimes abandon their project cause they have no more people buying into EA cause less and less people do it due to people complaining of little to no features in development. Then they move onto another project to try to swindle more money and the process repeats itself. A lot of indie devs have done this and gotten away with it in recent years. I understand KSP 1 didnt do that. but they still put some features behind DLC. I know that will happen with this game. having a demo instead of paying for EA forces devs to really put effort into their project to keep people interested.

since when people start to judge the prices with a EA tag?
schwing27 Oct 24, 2022 @ 9:27am
Going to a movie theater is like $15 a ticket now. And thats less than 2 hours of entertainment. Take your whole family there and nearly $75+ for tickets and food. Go out to eat for a decent meal its its likely over $50. Even just filling up a gas tank can be $50+

Are you really going to complain about a $50 game that will give you unlimited entertainment?

304 games over 15 years isn't the financial flex you seem to think it is.
