Conventional weapons and their ammo in late game
Hi. Just started playing this game and wanted to know if there is any point of keeping the conventional weapons and ammo.

I know shotguns can knock the terminators down like in the movies, so it has some usage, but what about the other guns - rifle, pistol, uzi nine milimida? Do they have any usage outside of blowing up the plasma canister or something similar?

i sell everything before i meet baron, no sense having weapons that are not plasma, thats just how i do it, then as soon as i get to level 12 i think it is or 18 haha i forgot, i get the red plasma terminator gun during the beginning of the pasadena mission for baron, its way better than the resistance one imo, then when i get a purple gun i save it until level 24 where i can use it, until i get the ultimate weapon from mack, then i use only that, i sell the red plasma weapons and ammo and use purple only for all the final battles. i have almost 500 hours in so ask anything ya want i should know and ill try to remember it lol

Personally, as I was able to use the (resistance) plasma guns, I sold all the other weapons. No need in carrying around useless scrap metal.
Yeah, once you get proper weapons the old ones are garbage. Keeping a shotgun on hand for crappier enemies is good advice but other than that I just fill my inventory with stuff that I can sell after a mission.

Same. I keep the shotgun, maybe change it to the M16 for a change of pace, or even the 1911, but I keep them for a few missions to build up plasma ammo by blasting the smaller bots.

I keep the shotgun until I need a slot for a missile launcher. It's useful for blasting smaller nuisances.

It's strange the shotgun is so effective, it should be the worst weapon for robots, the penatration on a bunch of pellets is terrible.

The small bug-bots are mostly made of mechanical joints that the pellets would probably bend out of shape and jam up.

The Shot Gun is more cost effective on harder levels. (plasma rounds & med kits are more scarce). Use the Shot gun on Silver Fish & Drones. Save the Plasma Rounds for terminators & above. (Its cheaper to craft Shot Gun Shells).
Skill Points: Increase Back Pack size, Crafting & Lock picking skills, Stealth (machines are more likely to spot you) & Explosives. Fast Learner is good on any level. Try to have at least 1 skill point available So you can increase an unexpected Skill level requirement.
This isn't "The" way to play...Just a different strategy.
