Terminator: Resistance

Terminator: Resistance

Is this game going to be removed soon?
There were several games on Steam that were made to advertise or hype up movies that came out such as Narnia, Rambo: The Baker Team, Expendables, etc. These were all games that were taken off after the licenses were expired or bought out for those little periods of time. Usually little dev teams work on these sort of games for that sole reason of having the game available for a short period of time (like this dev team). The games actually became collectibles for that reason in the Steam trading society.

So my question is, since the Terminator series basically ended recently (or may continue but into a complete new character outline) will they pull this game out soon?

Terminator: Resistance has absolutely no connection to the Terminator movies made by Paramount and Skydance. It was licensed in 2013 from StudioCanal. There's no way of knowing how long Reef will hold the license or whether there will be any complications. (I believe there are some authorship rights disputes around certain 1980s movie licenses, including Terminator.)

The Rambo game had no connection to any current Rambo films. As with Terminator, it was licensed from StudioCanal, who own the rights to the early Rambo films, the first two Terminator movies, and some other properties.

It's unclear whether Rambo was pulled due to licensing issues or because it's a bad, widely derided game and Teyon wanted to distance themselves from it.

As long as it's not an online game you need to login on a server for playing, what this game is not, you will continue to have the game in your library and you'll be able to play it. Even if the game would be pull out someday because a licence reason.

The own risk there is, if you didn't bought it before the pull out of the licence, is that the game couldn't be able to be bought anymore because Steam should be forced to stop the sales of the product.

But you can't lose your game when you bought it. It would not be legal to take back it from you. (As long as it's not an online game because it's different. What this game is not, again).

Ahh, I see. The game is doing really well for itself so they wont be pulling it for bad reviews. Thanks for that.

Steam hardly ever pulls anything just for bad reviews. If something is pulled it normally has to do with changes in distribution licensing contracts.

The game has good reviews so it wouldn't be pulled for that anyway :lunar2019laughingpig:

I think he means it's empty because every mission isn't fighting your way past hordes of t-800s

I don't get why you would remove it, it's a completed game making sales. You are even making sales on consoles, right?

Then you have games like Quake Champions on Steam. It is known you will not have a completed game, yet you don't remove that. You have American McGee's Alice that people want the game to return.

This game was just supported with a new patch, runs great and has a player base.
