Difficulty improvements and item balances should be made but ok...
When i play a game from start till finish its mostly a good game otherwise i wont finish it that fast.
IGN was a joke for a long time its not a reference to go to.
The reason we all like the game is because it visually pays homage to the classic look of the war of the machines, and is probably the only game ever to do it properly.
It also checks many boxes on simple yet effective gameplay loops by having a pseudo open-world locations with small secrets, secondary objectives, multiple navigation points, roaming enemies, crafting and loot.
All of the above is very simplistic yet effective to not get in the way of enjoying the the proper terminator feel.
However imagine this wasn't based on the Terminator setting. The game would likely go from very positive to mixed.
That said I myself am enjoying it, although I think the enemy difficulty is laughably easy.
This game has fanservice on it's side so that's why there are disparities with Steam reviews and critics reviews. And IGN is usually known for horrible reviews anyways.
Fact is this game is very low budget looking and nothing really stands out in any of the mechanics.
I am having fun so far but its mainly the Terminator scenario that motivates me, everything else is on par with a PS3 game from like 2007.
ign is irrelevant.
Exactly, they're totally disconnected from the players. They can rate "popular" games like Fortnite, but stuff that a minority would enjoy is really something they need to pass on, they only humiliate themselves further.
This game is a blast for anyone enjoying the T franchise and a good, simple AA sci fi FPS.
i *hate* recoil in games. i have a cursor, and if i point it somewhere, that's an order. the game should obey.
To me the biggest brainless creature is you. A person with brain would be far more nuanced. And you dont even own the game :D
i refuse to pay $70 for a bad indie game only because it has terminator on its name.
