Alternatively, try the INI
Adding the following line to most unreal 4 engine games usually helps
In the %appdata% directory of the game goto Engine.ini add this to the bottom
[SystemSettings]
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
save file
Regardless there should be an option for it in the game as this is a horrible effect that no one likes.
It's unreal engine? Then you could add this in engine.ini as well
[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen= x
x is 0.0 to 1.0. Could be more but I never needed more. This worked for me in the outer world, another unreal engine game.
https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/radeon-software-image-sharpening
AMD's sharpening is open source and Nvidia added it to Freestyle a couple months ago. They also added it to the Nvidia control panel two drivers ago
In the %appdata% directory of the game goto Engine.ini add this to the top
[SystemSettings]
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2
r.TemporalAASharpness=0.8
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1
In the Gameusersettings.ini change FieldOfView to 85-90
Save file.
Now it looks much better.
Could you put up a comparison picture? I took the movie grain off and it already looks much better.
Can't you just try the settings yourself?
I tried these settings and I agree that the game does look better. I changed the FOV to 100.
Thanks for posting this.
I tested this with all the settings and medium is fine. Low seems to change shadows a bit from my discovery, mostly in terms of ambient shadows.
