HOW TO: Get the best ending (SPOILERS)
I noticed a lot of youtubers kept getting the worst ending,so he's a simple guide on how to get the best ending

-Complete all of the sidequests except the ones below.

-Exhaust the dialogue of all of your fellow survivors

-Do not complete "The Hitman" Side quest

-Listen to the Stranger and all of his advice (including getting everyone to leave)

-Encourage the kid to become a scavenger,

-Get him a puppy (technically a side quest but this is important

-Always default towards favoring Jennifer over the commander, the Commander will ALWAYS survive.

Everything else remains mostly the same.

So I make Ryan kicked out from the shelter by telling the Quartermaster he cannot fix the car? I hope it will work :)

Edit: it did

Well it kinda depends what you cal a "good" ending. Especially with the choice at the end.

I would consider the "good ending" saving as many lives as humanly possible. To me that's not just morally sound but one of the main plot threads of the entire (now retconned) trilogy.

I'm not sure how anyone can not get the good ending, you have to go out of your way and ignore everything the game is telling you to fail that badly. Had I the chance to play the game for the first time again I'd skip all the sidequests, not listen to the Stranger and generally screw up everything. That way the choice at the end would actually have meaning and you could replay it to fix all your mistakes.
"do not complete the hitman quest" yet the hitman quest REQUIRES you to complete "The Codes" which is a main one

as far as I remember, no it doesn't.

It is just an optional objective and you can warn Mack about Baron wants him to be dead and he gives you an object so you can bring it to her and convince her that you killed him.
