Thanks for the clear analysis. I will give it a try and hopefully enjoy a good game.
If nothing else it will help the Polish studio.

Fear not, OP. The protagonist is as vanilla as it gets, and this game has absolutely nothing to say.
Watch out, though! There are both women AND black people in the resistance.
No one cares if there are women or black people in it, they just don't want to be preached at about it. Characters should exist as good characters, not as a political talking point.
I mean this is a franchise built around Sarah Conner, not one fan cares that she's a female in a lead role, they care that she's a well written character and not an SJW
Sadly in the new movie she is pushed as a feminist icon. The death of a franchise.
I can't be bothered to see the latest movie, it might as well not exist
Well, my problem with the latest movie is less the "woke" politics than the simple fact that it was "proudly ignoring the rest of the canon". See the only thing worse than what they did in "Genesys" was pretending it never happened and not trying to fix it. Rather than the stupidity of corrupting John, they basically just re-wrote things to make it so he wasn't that big a deal apparently (which defeats the purpose of the entire storyline).
See, I think it was fine on a basic level to push Sarah Connor as an aging action girl, they already established that in "Judgement Day", but trying to make her the focus doesn't work and it cheapens the character. Part of what made her strong was seeing her be effective despite the knowledge that the story wasn't truly about her.... and as far as a female terminator goes, I had no real problem with it when Summer Glau did it on TV.... so that was no big deal for me. If they had simply said "hey here are some strong women doing action-things" it would have been fine, and fit the series as it has been for a long time, but the agenda they inserted into it sort of destroyed it.... even if the movie itself is fine, all of the things they said about it outside of the movie wound up ruining it.
Things will truly be "woke" when they can have strong women without the preaching and flashing the neon lights about it, and making it so they need to demean men and claim we're all somehow threatened by it (which is ironic when guys were creating female characters like that decades before now)
They killed off John Connor mate...
And replaced him with some 5'1 Mexican chick.
Obvious is obvious.
In short, there's a right way of writing compelling characters, and a wrong way. The new Terminator flick went all in on the wrong way and bombed hard for it. Thankfully the game dosn't do these mistakes and (so far, I'm about 4-5 hours in) is a love letter to T1 and 2 fans. It's pretty good.
