Reducing overheating for Terminator Plasma?
Is there a way to reduce overheating for terminator plasma rifles? I know that they don't use ammo per se so I was wondering if the ammo chips effectively increase the time that they can be fired before overheating. I've never used them because there's nothing more frustrating than being in a firefight and you're gun won't fire because it overheats. Or is there any other way to reduce it? Thanks.

I would recommend trying a clip chip in every slot if possible, and see if they make a noticable difference, that would be the easiest way to find out, since the chips can be removed and placed back into the inventory if it doesn't work.

Yes, clip chips increase the amount of rounds fired before it overheats.

You're better off with 2 Gen Plasma Rifle V-24B scoped + 120% increase damage chips (without Weaponry Bonuses): no overheating, unless you really want to use Terminators plasma rifles... Reason is: 2nd Gen Terminator Rifle overheats and the time to cool down is slightly more than reloading (after maxing out Weaponry skill). In either case, you need to cover. So it's either more shots before overheating, or more damage in shorter time, with reloading. 'Cause V-24B has higher fire rate if I remember. And even if the 2nd Gen Skynet Plasma Rifle has higher fire rate, focusing on Clip chips doesn't do any good because you don't maximize damage.

With this 2nd Gen rifle V-24B scoped with max damage, you can take down T-47 and HK Aerial in no time (Weaponry skill lv 5), Terminators don't realize what hit them, you can advance very quickly to take down the last HK Tank in the game by hitting in it's back. They feel like the clankers in Star Wars Clone Wars!

In a pinch you can use clip size chips to add more shots before overheating. But once you can get the Gen 2 plasma rifles from the resistance I recommend going with them. I also highly recommend purchasing the purple chips from the vendor when they show up. It makes the Gen 2 plasma resistance weapons way better. I used two on the Resistance Gen 2 plasma minigun that was the purple +80% damage chips in two slots with a single +48% clip chip to give me a bit more time firing when it came to the final battle as I figured I might need it and need it I did.
