Terminator: Resistance

Terminator: Resistance

Is there a point of taking pictures?
I finished this game couple of times now, but still I have a question - Does taking pictures have any purpose or are those just funny collectables, like the logs, that does not serve any practical purpose?

You gain experience points when you take pictures of enemies, and the better your picture, the more experience points you earn. Take note that each type of enemy has a hidden log of the quality of pictures you take, so each time you take a picture of an enemy type you've already photographed before, your next photo must be better than the previous one to gain more experience, and a "Perfect" photo means you gain the most experience for that photo but can't gain more experience from taking a photo of that specific enemy type since you can't take a better photo than "Perfect."

The total amount of experience you can gain from taking "Perfect" photos of each enemy type might seem small, but it all adds up and can gain you some levels earlier on.

I'm amazed that someone played through this game more than once. Great environment & story, but the gameplay was lacking.

To be fair my first walkthrough was on hard right after release. The second at start was suppose to be for finishing missed achievements, but I ended up finishing on extreme. Then I play it again with that AI mod from Nexus. And the fourth was after that big patch with almost all HUD parts (I left Health Bar and X-Ray ON) turned off.

What can I say - it is a realy fun game to play. :)

Also, don't forget that what counts as a unique type of enemy can vary. For example, there are three types of Armoured Spider; one armed with miniguns and no face shield, one armed with miniguns and a face shield, and one armed with plasma rifles and a face shield, for a total of three types. Experiment a bit and find out for yourself how many enemy types you can take photos of.

If you're looking to take a photo of the HK Tank, remember you only have one opportunity to do so, so make sure to take a Perfect photo of the tank when you have that opportunity.

I don't get this tbh. it's almost like AA games just get needlessly s**at on for no reason. Yea the gameplay is not the best ever but what else do you need exactly? it's got crafting, scavaging, shooting, sliding, etc??? You expecting a street fighter style boss mini-game or something? compared to other games of it's genre like metro it isn't lacking that much. Yea metro has better weapon verity and the economy is much better but that doesn't mean the "gameplay is lacking" here. it just means the game is a bit less polished due to it being a AA instead of a AAA game.
It's almost like richer corporations have a method of brainwashing these slogans into gamers' heads.. oh wait they do.. review sties and channels.
I picked up this game expecting a bland game with decent terminator feel and I'm presently surprised that the gameplay is much richer than I had anticipated.
