The irony there being it occurs in the very first film.
The first hand to hand fight was against the punk and he was instakilled. At the end the T-800 slaps Kyle in the face/head which I think caused serious trauma.
In Salvation John gets thrown around like a ragdoll by the T-800 Prototype and suffers no injuries.
Neither did Matt after the first 2 throws. He got back up and attacked until being thrown through the door. Even so far as to grabbing the T-800 by the legs and then pushing it back after being thrown in to the mirror. Matts really the only person in any film to actually have a fight against a Terminator one on one.
Bale gets thrown on to the ground and then into the side of a helicopter (so not really life threatening injuries really) by the T-600 at the beginning. Then later on he gets thrown several times in the factory where he does display injury as he limps basically all through the altercation. However the T-800 reveal scene is the stupid bit really, as Bale gets rag dolled all over the place instead of insta killed right then and there. Eh, it is what it is.
I get it though, being thrown about does seem a little silly considering the power the T-800 and the like, but if it were more like Kyle Reeses incident (more realistic of what would happen) then we'd have a very short film as everyone would be dead in a few hits. Its only done for dramatic effect.
The thing that bothers me more about the later films is other machines/augmented people picking up Terminators like they're nothing and then throwing them across the room like they're a pillow or something. It looks stupid. T2 did a much better job of two equally matched machines (strength wise) fighting each other.
I was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to get that joke, yes.
