However, unless I've actually shot at an aerial HK, I've never had one notice me and attack me. Not even when nearby Terminators have detected me and are chasing me! As far as I can tell the Aerial HKs are purely decorative and do nothing.
Unless you have a rocket launcher, and can shoot one down for a load of experience points. In which case it then respawns and is replaced just one minute later. So if you buy a heat-seeking rocket launcher and a load of rockets, you can farm experience points by hunting Hunter Killers.
Also, hacked sentry turrets won't shoot at Aerial Hunter Killers, unless you shoot at a Hunter Killer and get it to chase you, then stand next to a sentry turret, and then when the Hunter Killer launches rockets at you, the explosions hit near enough to slightly damage the turret. Then the turret notices the enemy and starts shooting at it. And if it is a late game turret with violet plasma, it can damage and destroy the Hunter Killer! The two will fight each other, but the turret will always win. Takes ages though.
I believe the crit spot on them is inside the turbines vents where the orange glow is, that where i usually crit them with missile.
And i was talking about those Aerial HK that just patrol in cercle in Downtown, but honestly HK should always spot you if your in the open when it fly over you, so you would have to hide when one come by.
Good point.
