Late in the game you get "second generation" plasma rifles with violet plasma, which matches the look of what the Resistance use in the opening scenes of Terminator 2. In the game they actually call it the V-25.
It doesn't come with a computerised scope as standard, but if you see the quartermaster you can trade stuff and buy an enhanced version of that gun that has a big computerised scope on it, like what you see the Resistance guns have in the movies.
The big difference is that the M25 in the movies is a bullprop, i.e the magazine is at the back and the handle trigger is infront of it. However the gun you get in the game, the magazine is infront of the handle and the handle is further back.
I actually thought the resistance soldiers where wielding the M25 until I saw their hands where simply covering the magazine of the starting rifle.

Actually there is a mag, I just watch film yesterday and you do see it in the scene where he is in the resistance base where the terminator attacks although I am pretty sure that is just a mistake because having a bullet mag on a laser gun looks wierd aye.
But you get the one I mean anyways
That would definitely make me buy this game...kinda on the fence atm but this would tip me over
Yes it's there and if you invest in weapon skill as a priority you can use it lvl 12 and around the 3rd full mission
Nice one Ninja, didn't know this!
