How to invite friend?

Hello, I bought this game in double package and sent one copy to friend (both Mac). The weird thing: On inviting friend my friend list pops up and I see him in the list but I can't choose him, neither by Joypad nor by mouse (deactivated). How should the invite friend process work?

He got the message a Universal Access error message on switching to multiplayer game altough he has that feature activated (game also re-installed and Mac restarted) but he will not see the invite friend window as I can see. The funny thing: He can play with others online.

I have found a solution: You need to switch to Big Picture mode to be able to select a friend.
