Hi there!

If you're experiencing problems connecting to voice chat, try syncing your clock. We timestamp an authentication key locally, so if your clock is out of sync, it can cause the key to be invalid. We're working on a fix for this so it no longer relies upon your local clock, but until then you need to make sure it's not out of sync by following these instructions:
Open Settings.
Click on Time & Language.
Click on Date & time.
Under “Synchronize your clock”, click the Sync now button.

If that does not work set your speaker and mic as default devices and default communication devices.
If that does not work you might want to try to restart your computer and/or set the folder containing FCT as an *exception *for your Firewall/VPN/AntiVirus.

Please let us know if you are still having issues after trying those possible solutions.

Hi Sydney,

I'm wondering if there's any update to this. A group of us are encountering this problem every single time we try to play, to the point where we cannot play at all.

We've all tried every single one of your troubleshooting steps and nothing seems to work.

We're desperate as a huge pull of the game for us was the proximity voice chat, and now after each of us has bought the game we've discovered 5/6 cannot use that feature.

Everywhere we've looked seems to have the same 2 or 3 troubleshooting steps and nothing else if that doesn't work.

Could you please please let me know if there is another solution that has worked for people? As we're all pretty disheartened by the lack of a work around for an issue that, while doesn't make the game unplayable, absolutely makes it far less fun and enjoyable.

A quick look at the Subreddit seems to confirm that this is a huge issue within the community and seems to be largely ignored by the developers.

Unfortunately every private game now, one of our players can't connect to local chat. Just started happening today. But it's every game now.
