Audio Issues? Come here!
Hello All

We use a proximity based voice chat via Vivox that when working - is awesome. However there are some issues that can cause problems. If you are having audio issues, please check the below list for help.

1) Confirm in-game audio input and output devices are the correct devices you want to use.
2) Confirm via your Windows sound manager that those devices are working and if they are the same input and output devices. (Some of you may use soundboards/modulators etc to change those things)
3) Sync up your clock -- this happens because Vivox uses a token sent back and forth between the server and players and if the token timer is off it wont register correctly.

On Windows 10:
(Windows button) Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time // Current date and time
You should see these options to turn the toggle on to sync up online.

I set the "Set time automatically" & "Set time zone automatically"

Make sure to restart the game after you apply the time change.

If none of the above works -- let us know the issue and give as much detail as possible and we'll do our best to solve.

Thanks!

I have done all of the fixes that have been suggested, however, the game continues to disconnect me from the local chat channel when loading into the second sequence and that is only IF it connects correctly in the first place to start. the caption"You are Not Connected to the Local Channel" is displayed on the right side of the screen in red, yet there is no listed control to change those channels. this happens to both residents and personoids, and affects seemingly every player in the lobby-- meaning don't tell us to re-synch our clocks or devices, or any other bs tech fix, the problem is your dysfunctional and less than par level servers. Refund, TYFUB!

Vivox, the 3rd party voice comms provider, does not work on Linux unfortunately.

You can also use your own voice party system like Discord, granted it won't be proximity chat.

It's been a while and I can't even use my microphone without mommy's little boy screaming into my ears about how bad my microphone is. Works in every other application and game flawlessly, including other proximity chat games. If it's been a year, and you guys are actively releasing other content while the same audio issues are here, I don't think I can support you any further than my purchase of the game. I wanted the DLC too but oh well.

Hello! You can mute, block & report any players who are harassing you like that.

It gas become a persistent issue that I load into a game and it shows the error message "You are Not Connected to the Local Channel" either in lobby, or after loading in the first level, sometimes people can hear me at the beginning of the first level but it's gone before we reach the elevator. Makes the game unplayable if you can't have sound. For reference I have a Ryzen 5600H, with a RTX 3050 Mobile gpu, 16 gigs of Ram and 500 gigs of free space on my HDD where the game is installed. If there are further details that are required do let me know. It's a really fun game but I have to put it down until the issue is fixed : (

I just stumbled on this comment on github, it seems the project winter devs managed to get vivox running on linux by generating the token server-side… (whatever that means ;) )

Thanks for sharing this! I've shared it with the relevant staff to see if it's something we can look into.

I've brought this game for 3 months but never play it. When this issue is permanently fixed, I can finally gift my friends this game and start to play.

it's a waste of money at the moment. it is better to save yourself the money to buy this game

Hey
- I have checked my audio devices: they work
- I have sync my time
- I have restarted the game and my pc
- I have added the FCT folder in exclusions
Still doesn't work. The message is : "Voice Chat: Not Logged In" in red, during the game. And the only way to test if it works is to start a game, which is unfortunate for the other 5 players when it still doesn't work. I don't want to use another voice chat because without proximity chat it's useless.
Any other help?

EDIT: I've fix it by using a connection from a router/internet box instead of my 4G from my phone.
