Banned Players Update 4/22/21
After going over 7000+ in game reports it is evident that it’s always a rather small group of approx. 30 people who can’t be trusted to have fun. These people have been shown how the flush works! Keep up the good work and keep using the reporting system. It works.

Too bad this is why people will flush your game. How can you deceive your friends and be a snowflake at the same time?

There's more players every day, despite your pointless attempts at trolling these forums to drive people away from a game that you do not own and do not play.

There's a massive difference between playing the game and using deception versus the people who are being banned, they aren't playing, they just log in and harrass people and mock them.

The game is dying because of the amount of players that are getting banned how else are you going to grow the game? jeez oh well ♥♥♥♥ game anyway

Yea game devs these days are getting overly political and just ban anything that offends them. Sad that it will be their downfall. :/

No one is being banned over politics :steamfacepalm:

We're banning people whom make the game unplayable for others. We fully expect people to deceive/lie/etc to try and win the game as that is part of what makes this fun.

However none of the above calls for racist/sexist/hateful speech. If you want to act like that, then they can play with a group of friends and not in the public lobbies.

Can we get some clarification on where the line is drawn for appropriate insults/retorts. Obviously anything actually racist or sexist should not be allowed and I've even seen and been part of murdering residents who have just spouted that sort of stuff - it works like a very pro-active kick vote lol. However the concern lies with what you the devs define as "hateful speech" in your own game as this greatly varies between people. Some people can handle being called a "stupid c*nt" whilst others can't handle being called an "idiot". For me it seems common sense what is ok and not ok but in the modern world I understand this isn't the case across the board.

Is there a "range" of swear words we can safely use? I find aggressive accusations or aggressive defensiveness can work very well with misleading people however I've encountered a few very toxic players (by in-game actions) who have flipped out even at merely being caused a sore loser or even seem to have emotional breakdowns over being told to remove themselves from the game and existence. There are even people who can't seem to handle you being 100% completely nice and cooperative towards them, as a personoid, for the entire game, causing them to lose at the very end.

Any clarification on the common ground of acceptable verbal conduct would be great. Also keep in mind that you do not want to go down the route of total softly softly because ultimately this is a game about deception and murder and so toning any part of it down to pander to the faint of heart will only damage the game.

I dont quite understand how the developers can define a line in the sand in a game that thrives off Human interaction and every unique interaction i suppose is the best way to put it. Sure, people may get genuinely upset and say some pretty colorful things but at the same time i don't think they should limit how players choose to interact with each other if that makes sense. Like real life, people can be really mean and nasty so that experience is present in the game.

We have our Code of Conduct here

https://www.firstclasstrouble.com/code-of-conduct

And I'll make that sticky in the forums too.

If a squad of people don't like one person because of the things they say they can decide to just eliminate the person and shut them up. Granted that might be "toxic" but such a scenario could happen if that was an actual case stuck on a space ship.
Sandro Apr 23, 2021 @ 10:26am
its just a really weird thing to moderate as people have different insult thresholds and what not. Obviously there are fine lines of online personal harrassment and other malicious things but name calling in itself isn't that big of a deal.

If you need racism and sexism to argue over in-game mechanics, you have a problem. It's pretty clear where the line is drawn.

Are you being ignorant on purpose? That's twice you've completely skipped over the actual point of my post and focused on something I didn't say. The other one was when I said that the crouch-push super pushes are bs and you decided to say that "people being pushed over barriers is totally legit" lol. Now I clearly said at the start "Obviously anything actually racist or sexist should not be allowed" ... then the rest of my post is regarding the range of insults that can be allowed, I even give two examples of a "harsh" swearword and a more milder one....Nobody is arguing for the right to be racist or sexist and considering I said that at the start I do not understand your second irrelevant comment.

I don't know who you are but you seem to pop up on many posts here and your own posts always seem a bit self-righteous and confrontational, like you're some know it all but the thing is that's twice you've directly 'responded' to me with completely irrelevant content in regards to points I've made. What's the deal with that?

It's not clear where the line is drawn as, as I said in my lengthy comment, some people can handle being called an idiot and some people can't. Some people don't care to be called a c*nt whilst others would take great offence. If you'd like to respond to something and quote my posts then at least address what's being said and be relevant instead of being confrontational with almost every single person you reply to.

And you seem anxious to argue over everything, even when a developer pointed out in the other post that being pushed into hazards was legit, just like I said.
