So the player count is circling the drain

The 24 hour peak of players barely broke 100 players yesterday. I guess now is a good time to reflect upon the developers decision to start handing out permanent bans to 'trolls' and 'toxic players' a couple of months ago.

Good job devs, you over policed your game... and now its dead

I don't think it's so much the "false bans" as it is the game's design and the player base's overwhelming toxicity. It was amazing when it first came out and with every new update they added something new and took away something that would've been fine to keep in. Like being able to just switch locations so you don't have to describe the shape on the door, or nerfing the shove distance because some people cried about it being too hard to counter (there's a cool down for a reason.) The former was considered a QoL feature that made it much easier to play with people without mics and the latter removed some counterplay in regards to teaming, which brings me to the toxicity. I have plenty enough hours in the game to say that its become unbearable now. When I last played, It only took me 2 games to find friends that would simply kill me regardless of whether they had proof I was the impostor or not. The first had someone grab a single log, say I was the impostor and i was killed. I was impostor for neither.

The game doesn't have an active enough playerbase because the updates, while introducing some nifty ideas here and there, removed much of the counterplay a solo player with actual skill in the game would be able to take advantage of. Which means players that enjoy challenges are out. That just leaves players that enjoy the game for it's mystery element, and if you're just cheating/being a ♥♥♥♥...Those players aren't going to stick around either.

Lol, people like you give the game heavy negative reviews and then you wonder why nobody is playing it?
The people who got banned just need to head to the official discord and check if they got banned without a reason, and if there was good reason then the ban is FINE.

The games design is yet to improve since its an early acess and the devs were on holidays the whole july. so we just need to chill and wait for another patch with new content and rebalancing fixes...

Stop being so dranmatic about the playercount.

Game is not cheap, thats a first blockade.
Game doesnt run on a potato, the next.
Game deosnt get promoted by every streamer ever...

Maybe there will be a big new update in combination with a sale.

Next thing is people cry about the mandatory vsevil account -.-
I dont like it either but i wanna play this game and how come people dont complain about it in other games that need 3rd party accs?

over police?......while i have test played the game once and having huge problems trying to sign in again now, i would still highly contest that comment..this is a social game where verbal communication is paramount as such users imho must respect any other player, social media abuse and discrimination has now been highlighted to be rife, and it isn't fair or respectful, if players have been racially or any other way verbally disrespecting other users while playing the game and there is evidence or multiple complaints against that player the admins and devs are well within their moral compass to ban those players, or at the very least warn or suspend them...do you have kids mr @OP, because if you do and you respect them you should actually welcome such a move..

I would respect the dev for taking such action understanding that this is not for accliam or gain but for moral and ethic justification, they are actually hurting there own finacial potentional for the sake of moral justice, personally i applaud this.
