However, I'd prefer "Devil King" over "Archfiend" too. Just as an example.
I suppose there's just a tendency to always want to pick something apart and find something wrong with it, even if it's not necessarily there.
Suzaku -> Shucho (i dont get it, the translator use byakko and genbu but not suzaku)
Aunas -> Aunus (come on the katakana is A U Na Su)
Acceptable:
Byunei -> Bune
Seiryu -> Soryu
Last Letter -> Eulogy (I guess the translator dont get the reference)
And to compare to the Manasword translation you get Stone Ballet (my personal favorite), Mysdragon, and on and on. It was awesome 20 years ago and an amazing achievement, but it is much worse.
Kzinnsie/Kujinshi is irksome too. But I'll take more SaGa in English than less. I am excited for Scarlet Grace.
Especially when Genbu and Byakko were translated correctly. Soryu (Seiryu) is not as bad as Shucho.
>champs elysees got mangled to shanze lize
>vincent got mangled to vin santo
how the hell can you miss such an obvious reference as champs elysees
Played through the game since my first comment and I've noticed a lot of these tbh. As a professional translator who's been trying to get into the video game business for a while, the obvious lack of passion for works like these sadden me .. :(
Anyway, the actual dialogue is pretty well done. Not going to cry over a few term differences.
Also saw the Professor's song. Someone mentioned previously that it's out of sync. I did not expect half of minute of silent text scrolling.
