No one knows if these games would make money because Capcom always do it wrong.
Can't have ORC and Resistance with immense lag and internet issues and expect to keep players
Can't expect to keep players when the game sucks like is the case with Re:Verse and Umbrella Corps.
Resistance had left4dead meets outbreak energy but reception's clearly negative.
Perhaps capcom should stick to mercenary modes. In-lore, mercenary modes make sense as regions need biohazard cleanup and theyre best played solo or at most coop - *never* human against human, even with zombies added.
Yeah, as far as I can tell, RE2/4's Mercenaries modes and REvelations 1/2's Raid mode were FAR more popular, due to being focused on solo / co-op PvE and thus appealing to the same sort of people that play the main game. After spending the main game having to treat every bullet as precious, it's quite cathartic being able to go to town on enemies with exotic weapons that were previously too precious to use.
Resistance didn't die at arrival and also did not die because of it "PvP" nature. It died because of Jill and Nicholai. Nicholai and the gun meta drastically killed the playerbase and Jill being broken in the right hands was the major standpoint for the community.
Community just wasn't smart enough to admit what was wrong. If back in April 2020 smart players would have said that Guns and knockback is not fun and balanced. the game would have turned completely different. Instead peoples complained that Mastermind was OP and killed pretty much every MM except ironically Nicholai. The creatures have stupid AI, They have no health except with tanky annette.
Daniel is just a shadow of himself. Endurance is the most useless skill in the game due to the Kashima.
Alex insta-trap was broken in certain situations but i feel like the range between closed door and trap range should have been increased to prevent that situation in the first place.
Spencer with his obvious terminal build was nerfed but they gave him and the other MM buff durations equipment which nullify the nerf in the first place.
Nicholai was nerfed multiple times. but, they never truly fixed his true issue. Which was the gun meta he brought in the game. Nicholai should have been a creatures focused MM with exclusive cards being machine gun and high caliber turrets. The shield mod should not exist and overall his guns ability should have only affected rifles and not anything else.
Survivors issues are mostly because of Damage meta they outrun any Mastermind with it. The MM have no where as much DPS then survivors not even with MR.X or extermination nemmy. (Yes yellow val , 1 supplement becca/sam and tyrone will survive the rocket anyway).
But, anyways it wasn't the point of the post. My point is just people are so stubborn with the fact Resistance is bad because... RE3R is bad because of it... which have no roles in both games downfall. Capcom is the one to blame for putting no enough efforts and budget for both games.
I have so much information about the hacking situation , the values of equipments , the amount of RP required to unlock everything , Each survivors/masterminds weakness and how to fix them , Every exploit doable for both sides (January hacking cams though doors and wall , Duplication glitch , Infinite invincibility glitch for MM etc...)
The fact peoples use those exploit even when Survivors is clearly at the top against the most % of MM players is ridiculous. Like most of them can't compete and survivors still bully them to death. MM will destroy any unprepared/laggy teams. PC meta and consoles meta are two things.
So yeah stop blaming Resistance for what it's not. "A soulless PvP game" This game is well thought but community stupidity led this game tho this state.
People need to let it die because Capcom would put a final nail in it if they went near it.
