Got some sauce for that future standalone statement?
THAT !
This is what what should be on the top topic, this is what every topic should be ...
if crossplay is a thing, this game will blow up
Why are they even interested in this if they have no desire to play RE3 or even care about RE as a franchise? People in today's age drive me bonkers... such stupidity... go play something else like DBD or some other trash game in the same genre... they might as well, they're not missing out on ♥♥♥♥.
a month maybe less will dead i think
Hell yeah
No offence :).
Unfortunately it is a really bad time to release a multiplayer game like this with the pandemic.
It is the absolute best time for gaming in the past demi-decade, maybe even a whole decade. With the COVID-19 pandemic, people are out of work, there's no international recession[www.google.com] to be felt...*yet*. So all people are doing, is lounging (while scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥-stained of the coronavirus) because unemployment is basically enforced with all of the businesses closed or, the lucky ones are working from home.
People have all this free time to game, and some a bit of spare cash they feel secure in spending[www.livemint.com]...*for now*.
Multiplayer games will always be more popular. You can recreate a single-player experience by video walkthrough, but you can't perfectly capture the unique experience and quality time spent with friends in multiplayer (most watch multiplayer solely for humor or learning (constant content), not for itself).
But WAIT: So if this game is during the absolute best time to be gaming, and it's multiplayer, AND it has a nicely-popular, super-old franchise with tons of mcbigshits of LORE[residentevil.fandom.com] and fun stuff and success: why isn't this game popular?
Well, Phil, multiplayer games require people. What does this game lack? PEOPLE[steamdb.info]. It's not a whole matchmaking schtick of hoogabalooga that can go away with the fairy dust of a hotfix (they already did when RE:R released, you ignorant *****[www.residentevil.com]). PEOPLE. We. Need. PEOPLE! Why do we not have people!? BECAUSE THIS GAME ISN'T ISN'T EVEN AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AND EVERYONE WHO GOT IT (single-player fans), DON'T EVEN WANT IT. No, I don't care about the minority of people who like both and feel the need to shove it down my throat like this game is on the road to a utopian future. Instead, take the word antidisestablishmentarianism at 1638p down yours. I bet it fits. This game needs change.
STATISTICAL ANALYSIS shows things haven't started well.
FACT: Resident Evil Resistance[steamdb.info] has only 51.95777586841782% of the concurrent peak of players that it had in it's Demo[steamdb.info] despite approaching the same number of days. (Representative)
COMMENTARY: Roll call: Jessica? ...Absent. So by looking at the data we can infer that Resident Evil Resistance interested approximately 8k people. Demo/Beta's never bring in as much people as the full-release though, such as for Resident Evil 3[steamdb.info] and Resident Evil 2[steamdb.info] not even resembling the numbers their releases had. I don't even need to show you the comparison--they're like microdicks.
Furthermore, of what data we have, the beta had a stable peak of 5k concurrent players daily at 15:00/3pm. The full version has only peaked 4k...we're potentially missing a thousand and MANY more who didn't bother with the beta or didn't know about it: players who are either broke, waiting for a sale, or hate needless clutter they can't play with friends (RE:3). If we opened the floodgates we could actually talk about population growth for this stand-alone (in everything except obtainment) title.
FACT: As people completed Resident Evil 3[steamdb.info], they generally did not move to Resident Evil Resistance[steamdb.info]. Even as Resident Evil 3 retained less players in even less time than Resident Evil 2[steamdb.info]. Resident Evil 2 retained 47.085292413811686% of it's concurrent players within a week, 90.58428873590472
within a day, Resident Evil 3 retained 75.42666644552436% within a day. At the current rate of concurrent player retention over time, Resident Evil 3 is not projected to match in a week.
Despite Resident Evil 3 losing 24.57333355447564% of it's concurrent numbers, Resident Evil Resistance HAS seen a surge of players within the same time-frame as the aforementioned data, but only by 142.51968503937007% (4163 concurrent players from 2921).
COMMENTARY: While there WAS a surge, 2 x 1.5 = 3; just 4k is still playing with baby-numbers. We should strive for more, build more. Resident Evil Resistance needs solidarity if we're to truly invest in this, and 4k can be thrown away most easily: after all, this game had progenitors--that evidently were. To make this game stand-alone from it's dead brethren, we need to make it actually stand-alone.
FACT: Resident Evil 2[steamdb.info] did not have any sale/discount until 10 months after release.
COMMENTARY: So are we really waiting for 10 months to get this population blooming? At this rate: can anyone be sure this game will even be supported until then? If yes, do you have homicidal thoughts or actions and emotional instability; are you insane? No one will wait for that. I'm not optimistic the world's economies will encourage leisure-buying at that time.
END: As time moves on this game will age, and with age, depreciation. If it's not continually built up it'll be a miscarriage before it can even realize glory. How many miscarriages will you accept? How many will it take to get to Outbreak--and if all the past is sullied in miscarriages--how could Outbreak have a fate any different? Why can't we just be content with this one, why can't this be our 'Outbreak'. It has some similarities and amazing potential. For those who aren't blinded by the nostalgia of Outbreak, let this be of comfort to you: This isn't Outbreak. Rejoice. Both sides can come together in Resident Evil Resistance, it has that potential.
PS It takes a mad love (product of the Resident Evil Resistance Beta) for someone to allocate the amount of time to type this behemoth, and I don't even have the game. I'm one of those who want to play with my friends and significant other, yet how can I buy a 2nd copy if it'd be $120. How can I consciously even think of trying to convince my friends to throw $60 (ya'know, because I actually care for their financial well-being, too) for a game they don't even know whether they like, and they aren't even more-than-vaguely-familiar with Resident Evil. It's a sad multiplayer game if you can't even bring your friends and loved ones. An even sadder franchise to be so isolated from attracting NEW fans.
